The Power of Siddha Yoga ContemplationDear Siddha Yoga Student, I invite you to participate in the first year of the Home Study Course, The Power of Siddha Yoga Contemplation. My name is Nivrtti Gillett, and I am the writer of this course. Contemplation is the first topic of the multi-year Home Study Course because it is vital for all other aspects of Siddha Yoga practice and study. To learn effectively, we need to be comfortable learning on the level of the Heart as well as the mind, and this is what contemplation teaches. Through contemplation, we also enable ourselves to go deeper in all the other Siddha Yoga practices. Contemplation impels sadhana! It is one of the keys to the knowledge of the Self. Siddha Yoga contemplation is imbued with the Shakti of the Siddha Yoga lineage of Gurus. It has the power to transcend mundane understanding and waken the mind with the intelligence of the Heart. Siddha Yoga contemplation is not the same as thinking about something. Contemplation builds a bridge between the universal Self and the individual mind, between your inner wisdom and your everyday choices. If you feel distant from your Self or your Guru, contemplation dissolves the compelling illusion of separation. And when you experience the sweetness of your own Heart, contemplation maintains the bridge to that moment, throughout the various events of your life.
How do I understand Gurumayi's words more fully? How do I make my everyday choices from the Heart? How do I hone my awareness of who I truly am? For these, and for all your sadhana questions, it is crucial for you to know the methods by which you can access your own innate wisdom. It is when you discover these answers from within that they become fully owned by you—contemplation is a means to ownership of the Truth. May your own exploration of Siddha Yoga contemplation lead you to experience the wisdom of your Self! With love, Nivrtti Gillett
