Gurumayi Chidvilasananda has established the tradition of giving a Message on January 1 of each New Year, to bring a unified focus to the global Siddha Yoga sangham and guide Siddha Yogis in their sadhana throughout the year. Since 1994 Gurumayi's Message Artwork has become an integral part of how Siddha Yogis engage with the Message for each year. Gurumayi’s Messages and Message Artwork form an ever-growing treasury of timeless wisdom that Siddha Yogis continue to study, practice, assimilate, and implement.

For me it seems that this year's Message and the AUM Message are the source of all the other wonderful Messages Gurumayi has given us over the years. They are the ground of being for everything in Siddha Yoga sadhana. Contemplating the images of all the Messages, I suddenly hear a chorus of AUMs in my heart, all in different tones, blending together in a perfect and beautifully balanced musical expression, a unified whole.

Going through the chronology of Siddha Yoga messages, I am amazed how each one is not only applicable to those years, but keeps giving its light years later. What precious gifts from the Guru. Farewell 2012, what an adventure we are on! And 2013: the great expanse before us, just waiting to be filled with our love, seva, and courageous exploration. We are so blessed.

Coincidentally, I started my school years in 1991, and finished my study (post graduate) in 2012. When I see the lineage of Messages spreading out for the same time duration, I am surprised. I reflected on my past years in the context of the respective Messages, and concluded that I have not yet studied some of the Messages. Now I have an opportunity to study those remaining Messages given during my childhood.
