Bade Baba seemed to be 60 feet tall when he appeared to me in a dream many years ago. I pranamed at his feet, and looked up to see his gentle, smiling face gazing down at me from such a great height!  How benevolent was his powerful presence, beaming unconditional love and blessings to me in such a sweet and unexpected darshan.

To this day, when I remember him, I experience this strength, power, and love.

While I was listening to this story, tears were falling from my eyes. I could see the story unfolding in my mind. I know Bade Baba is everywhere. On this day of his Punyatithi, this vivid story reflects his teaching: “Be calm, I am everywhere.”

Bade Baba, I bow to you with my reverent heart, forever.

Tears started to flow as I listened to this story. It was such a good reminder that the Guru's love and grace are always with us, and that the Guru's blessings often appear when we least expect them.

Thank you, Gurumayi, for the gift of this beautiful story!

Many years ago, when my mother passed away, I didn't have any other relatives close to me. I lived alone in a small studio apartment in New York City, and I felt very isolated and was unable to fall asleep for about three weeks. Three weeks with almost no sleep! One day I felt drawn to go into a health food store across the street, where I saw a magazine with a photo of Baba Muktananda on the cover. I took the magazine home, somehow certain that it would help me, and read the article by Baba. I laughed for the first time in what felt like an eternity. I then prayed to Baba, "Please help me to sleep." Within moments I fell into a peaceful sleep, in which I saw a slender young Indian man come and sit on the side of my bed. He sat there, absolutely motionless, all night long.

Eight years later, in one of my first Shaktipat Intensives, we were watching a beautiful slideshow, and I saw a photo of Bade Baba as a young man. I was amazed to realize it was Bade Baba who had been watching over me that night while I slept!

Thank you, beloved Bade Baba.

Bade Baba's Solar Punyatithi was a beautiful day, and I was enjoying offering seva at my local Siddha Yoga meditation center. All day long Bade Baba was on my mind, and I felt very near to him. This morning after my practices and walk, I listened to Swami ji tell this story and felt my heart open with tears of joy. I felt saturated with Bade Baba's blessings.

The story of the devotee who still has the flower he received as prasad from Bade Baba reminded me of the time I was participating in a yajna, a fire ritual, at Shree Muktananda Ashram. At the end of the yajna, Gurumayi walked by and tossed a small blue flower to me.

I still have that flower, framed!
