Tulsidas makes his way to the village temple. When the Brahmins at the temple see this poor beggar with a statue of Ram, they assume he has stolen it.

Running away from the Brahmins, Tulsidas bumps into a holy man, the Guru Narahari Das. Narahari Das protects the boy from the Brahmins and invites him to come live at his ashram on the banks of the river Ganga.
