A Sweet Surprise 2014
The Global Siddha Yoga Satsang

Several weeks after participating in A Sweet Surprise satsang, I had an amazing experience in meditation. It was so wonderful and unusual for me, and I wished I could have stayed in that place much longer!

Afterwards, I took out my journal and attempted to describe it. Where had I been? I was somewhere, but I felt none of the usual trails of emotion or passing thoughts. There was no awareness of my breath or my heartbeat, or, in fact, any awareness of my body at all. The feeling was very alive and almost liquid. Could I say the place was pure? Serene? Was this what is called bliss? Then, the realization dawned on me: I'd entered the space of flawless quietude. A priceless gift!

Thank you, dear Gurumayi.

I participated in A Sweet Surprise satsang for the second time on March 2. During the satsang I was back at Gurudev Siddha Peeth in my mind and heart. Gurumayi's incredible love and compassion carry me to deeper and deeper insights and expanding peacefulness. Her Message this year returns me to every experience and insight I've ever had and brings me to a space of supreme peace.

Now it is up to me to expand that space and hold on to it, thanking Gurumayi for such an experience by continuing to immerse myself in her grace. How blessed I am!

The 2014 Message has a very deep meaning for me. The essence is to focus on listening and become a good listener. By becoming a good listener, one can understand the teachings better; one can contemplate better and practice better.

I am going to try and become a better listener so that I can achieve the rest as well.

a Siddha Yogi from Delhi, India

The Sweet Surprise satsang for 2014 was exactly that. A very tender and wonderful surprise, and a reminder of the generous heart of the Guru and the lasting reminder that with a Guru in my life, my whole life is a sweet surprise that awakens me moment by moment to the realization of who I truly am—a divine multi-dimensional being who can live from that experience.

I am grateful that even after almost thirty years of practicing the Siddha Yoga teachings with Baba and Gurumayi, I feel blessed and refreshed by this Message and am reminded over and over again that the more I fall in love with my own Self the more I fall in love with this world and the entire universe.

I participated in A Sweet Surprise satsang yesterday. It was lovely being able to listen to Gurumayi's voice. As she spoke and chanted and laughed, I could feel a deep connection with her and with the whole worldwide sangham. It was beautiful.

The Message is very powerful, and significant for my life and the obstacles that I am facing. I am sure I will draw strength from it throughout the year.

Thank you, Gurumayi!

During the chant of A Sweet Surprise I had a heart-opening epiphany. I felt in my heart, not just in my mind, that what we are receiving in this satsang is the tremendous gift of grace that supports our study. I had the heartfelt understanding that we receive so much more than new words to study, because the words of the Master that we receive are so filled with grace—the grace that, with our self-effort, takes us to the goal. What a celebration indeed!

Thank you, Gurumayi, for this great gift!

I participated in A Sweet Surprise on January 1 at the Siddha Yoga Meditation Center in New York City. When we began to chant with Gurumayi, I had a vision of planet Earth being surrounded by strings of golden light appearing in all directions. Our chanting, in the universal hall, spun a golden web of protection around the entire planet. I am so grateful to Gurumayi for allowing me to have this dynamic experience of how our sadhana, together, produces such blessings and benefits for everyone and everything. We are, indeed, all connected.

When I first heard Gurumayi's Message, I thought, “There is something wonderfully profound here that I don't yet understand.” I have been studying the Message every day since. I dream about the Message. It goes over and over in my head as I sleep. Sometimes I focus on one particular part while I am sleeping, and I feel I have had a deeper understanding when I wake up. Now, even when I am not consciously thinking of the meaning, I feel that remembering the Message has the ability to transport me to the present moment, the only moment where the awareness of God lives.

Thank you, Gurumayi, for bringing me closer to you every time I remember your Message.

I am so happy to be a Siddha Yoga student! Gurumayi’s Message is carrying me into such exquisite awareness. A Sweet Surprise satsang was the key. The practice of meditation has never been so alive for me.

How infinite is the power of our Guru's words!

a Siddha Yogi from Montreal, Canada

A Sweet Surprise was just awesome. My sister would never sit quietly throughout satsang. But this time she sat quietly and was enjoying it with everyone.

I, too, was enjoying it and had tears at the end. It was such an inspiring and motivating experience.

Thank you, Gurumayi, for A Sweet Surprise. It was beautiful.

I love you, Gurumayiji.

Gurumayi’s Message for 2014 is so powerful. I felt that this is what Baba and Gurumayi have experienced and that they want us to learn to be in that space. Each word filled me with the longing to be there. Following Gurumayi’s guidance throughout this year, I will taste the nectar of this experience.

a Siddha Yogi from Nairobi, Kenya

On the first of January, alone in the peace of my flat, I received the live audio stream of A Sweet Surprise. It was a new experience for me to be so close to Gurumayi and Shree Muktananda Ashram, listening directly in English, instead of French translation. I was attentive and in a very subtle space, paying attention to sensations, feelings, the echo of the sounds of the words, the poetry of the words together, the glistening dance of the music and chant.

I thought of the Message as a sutra, a means for transformation that has to be discovered by experience in the course of time, revealing its secrets step-by-step.

At the end of the satsang, what a delight to lie on my bed, letting the Message suffuse me in silence and deep peace! Infinite gratitude!

On Saturday, I will listen to A Sweet Surprise again, this time with the French translation, along with the Siddha Yoga chanting and meditation group in Bordeaux. What new surprises will there be?

a Siddha Yogi from Blanquefort, France

What a great year it has been so far, thanks to A Sweet Surprise! I have been contemplating and repeating Gurumayi's Message for 2014 during my meditations, and I mentally repeat it while I am cooking and performing other activities. It transports me into a deep, calm, and happy state. It expands my heart, making me feel that everything is just perfect as it is.

Thank you, Gurumayi!

A week has elapsed since I participated in A Sweet Surprise. The satsang created an exquisite and very deep stillness within me. It was such a strong experience that during this past week, no matter what challenges arose, nothing could disturb it or dissipate it. The experience has such strength, such power, and is so sustaining.

Thank you, Gurumayi.

a Siddha Yogi from Macclesfield, United Kingdom

Today, I experienced A Sweet Surprise satsang a second time. Listening to Gurumayi's exposition of the Message for 2014 again was invaluable. And the energy was so palpable that I felt as though the satsang were streaming live again, even though I knew it wasn't so.

I am so very grateful that this is available to everyone.

a Siddha Yogi from New York, USA

After having been blessed to be able to participate in A Sweet Surprise satsang at the Siddha Yoga meditation center on January 1, I was blessed further by experiencing its amazing shakti for nine days.

On the tenth day, I noticed that my experience started to fade away. I was surprised, because I had been doing the practices more intensely than for some time, aided by the renewed energy and determination I had received from the satsang. I contemplated what to do and realized that I had not repeated Gurumayi's Message to myself for a couple of days. So I resumed repeating the words of the Message -- and contemplating their meaning.

The next morning in my meditation I experienced perfect contentment, peace, and bliss.

I continue to contemplate the deeper meaning of my Guru's words. I realize that my self-effort is vital on this God-given path, and also that my beloved Gurumayi's grace is but a moment’s contemplation away.

a Siddha Yogi from California, USA

A Sweet Surprise was such a wonderful satsang! So much joy arising inside me!

When I heard Gurumayi speaking, it was as if channels in my body opened, and I felt the energy moving upward through me.

I am grateful that I could attend this sweet event. I want to experience the satsang again.

Thank you, Gurumayi.

My heart melts when I read the shares from everyone around our Earth.

Gurumayi reaches everyone in so very many ways and forms. I am moved by how many people have never met Gurumayi in person but have such a strong, deep bond with her, and she with them. It takes me back to the first moment I saw Baba's photo. My life changed completely in that moment. This is such an amazing journey!

Thank you, Gurumayi, for all the love you give to the Earth—and to us all.

a Siddha Yogi from New Mexico, USA

Ever since I participated in the A Sweet Surprise 2014 satsang with beloved Gurumayi, I find myself listening intently to the sound, tone, and pitch of objects, conversations, and nature. It simply amazes me how the variations in the tone and timbre of any sound evoke different feelings and emotions within me. All of this seems to happen effortlessly, due to the infinite grace of Gurumayi.

I am super excited about delving deeper into exploring Gurumayi’s Message for 2014 in as many ways I can. In addition to expanding this new awareness of listening intently, I intend to participate in A Sweet Surprise satsang many more times to discover more of its teachings.

I offer my deepest gratitude to beloved Gurumayi for A Sweet Surprise 2014, which continues to unfold its sweetness and wonder every day—especially when I read through the sharings about it on the Siddha Yoga path website.

a Siddha Yogi from Mumbai, India

When I first heard the Message of A Sweet Surprise, everything paused. And then I felt an excitement bubbling up inside, and heard a "YES!" within me.

Now when I meditate, I hold the Message in my awareness. The space between the breaths opens up, and I go deep into the pristine silence within. My meditations have become deeper and very still.

Since A Sweet Surprise satsang, I also feel infused with a happy excitement about the new year.  So many things that were waiting to be accomplished I am getting done with ease and a smile. Underneath everything is a quiet steadiness and strength while on the surface I am moving forward with openheartedness.

Thank you, Gurumayi, for once again offering us the gift of A Sweet Surprise. I feel it will truly transform my sadhana and my life.

a Siddha Yogi from Washington, USA

I participated in A Sweet Surprise satsang yesterday for the second time here in Gurudev Siddha Peeth. I was delighted to have received the seva of performing the arati during Jyota se Jyota Jagao.

As I listened to the teachings in the satsang, I began feeling an expansion in my consciousness, a deep connectedness with my own inner being, with everyone in the world.

Then, as I was about to walk in front of the Guru’s chair holding the arati tray, a voice inside me said, “I perform this arati on behalf of everyone participating in this satsang.”

And I began to offer the arati, praying for the Guru’s blessings for each and every one in this world.

I was smiling with joy all through the arati. At one point, my eyes fell on Baba’s picture above the Guru’s chair. It seemed to me that Baba was laughing and laughing with such happiness! His laughter poured forth showers of blessings.

What an auspicious day January 1st was! The powerful and sublime energy I experienced in the presence of Gurumayi and Siddha Yogis all around the world is still with me. Gurumayi’s vibrant laughter is still echoing within, reminding me of the bliss of freedom.

Since then, I have been carrying the Message for 2014 with me as a part of my being. Every day I wake up repeating the Message like a mantra and going to bed with the Message. It softens and soothes my whole being and allows me to rest in the beautiful space within.

Thank you so much, Gurumayi, for your universal presence in the form of love. We all are blessed.

a Siddha Yogi from Pune, India

A week has passed since I participated in A Sweet Surprise satsang, and the surprises continue to unfold as does my enthusiasm to engage with Gurumayi's Message for 2014.

I find myself seeking moments to practice throughout the day because the most delightful thing occurs! When I recall the Message—and it doesn't matter where I am or what I've been doing—I become alert to a subtle shift in my awareness and can feel the tangible presence of the Message suffusing itself into the moment, and I am transported back into the universal hall sitting with everyone at Gurumayi's feet.

The palpable feeling of serene silence, immense joy, and love swells up through my inhalation, and when I exhale, it permeates the space outside and I feel like dancing ecstatically, just as I felt during the satsang. When I return to the task at hand, or if I am speaking with someone, the tangible feelings of joy, love, and silence continue to fill every moment with exquisite grace.

Thank you, Gurumayi. I love this path.

During the New Year holidays, we were traveling. My husband, twelve-year-old son, nine-year-old daughter, and I chanted the mantra Om Namah Shivaya in our hotel room on New Year's Eve. On New Year's Day, I felt so much longing to be in the universal hall with all of you listening to Gurumayi’s Message. That night I dreamed that I was in the hall in Shree Muktananda Ashram and had the seva of waving the arati tray to all the pictures of the Siddhas. I felt so connected and blessed when I woke up.

Finally, we were able to participate in A Sweet Surprise satsang yesterday. This morning the same thoughts keep arising: connected and blessed, connected and blessed, connected and blessed!

Thank you, Gurumayi, for this connection and these blessings.

a Siddha Yogi from Kuwait City, Kuwait

I participated in A Sweet Surprise satsang on January 1 and experienced the power and blessings of stepping into the new year guided by the Guru. By participating in A Sweet Surprise each year, my sense of "years passing" has been transformed into the experience of "being guided into yet another phase of a sacred journey," closer and closer to the final goal.

I am looking forward to participating again in A Sweet Surprise, now in the company of other young adults, as the satsang is being held at the Siddha Yoga Ashram in Boston for this age group. Each day I am preparing myself further to receive Gurumayi's teachings about her Message by meditating every day, practicing mantra japa, and journaling on my experience of the teachings that stood out for me when I first participated in the satsang.

Thank you, Gurumayi, for this mahaprasad, your Message that illumines our lives and blesses the earth.

a sevite in Shree Muktananda Ashram

The start of the New Year was a great time, when we joined our beloved Gurumayiji in the universal hall! It was the first time I have ever heard Gurumayiji speak live. I have never met her or seen her in person, but I always think, “Yes, you are with me.”

The Message will support us to go far in our sadhana. And after hearing Gurumayiji speak, her teaching came to my mind that wherever we are, we are connected.

Thank you, Gurumayiji, for guiding us on this wonderful path of Siddha Yoga!

I had the great good fortune of attending A Sweet Surprise satsang on January 1. Ever since, I have had the urge to clean and organize my home and my office, and to create order and beauty around me. I discover places in my home and office that I have neglected for some time, and I feel great delight in cleaning.

I am also able to perceive my thoughts with greater clarity. I realize the importance of doing the Siddha Yoga practices, which clean the corners of my mind and help me to live a joyful and happy life despite challenges.

Thanks a million, Gurumayi, for your continuous guidance and support.

My co-worker shared with me yesterday that he had spent the night in a blissful sleep that was filled with sparkling light. He is not a devotee or a yogi, and he has no formal spiritual practice. This was a sign to me that we are all one together in the universal hall.

Thank you so much for the happy, happy, happiness of the New Year!

a Siddha Yogi from California, USA

I participated in A Sweet Surprise at the Siddha Yoga meditation center on the first day of the year. In addition to the shakti streaming through the entire satsang, I marveled at the aesthetic beauty of its combined elements.

Since then, I’ve felt such inspiration and hope for the year that lies ahead. It seems to me that, wherever we are in the world, we’ve been infused with incredibly powerful and grace-filled energy in the form of Gurumayi’s Message.

This past weekend, I was drawn to take the satsang again, this time in my own home. Listening to it the second time, especially Gurumayi’s exposition of the Message, I gained so much more insight and understanding.

The Message continues to become more alive for me. I feel it accompanying me throughout the day, suffusing my body and my awareness, connecting me with the infinite power at the core of my being.

Thank you, Gurumayi.

In 2013, Gurumayi gave us Mantra Japa, a golden thread to help us purify and still the mind, transcend the centrifugal force of the senses, and dive into the ocean of stillness.

With her Message for 2014, I feel Gurumayi has launched me deeper within. Ever since A Sweet Surprise satsang, I feel and hear my heart beating in unison with the very breath of nature and universal love, within and without, wherever I go, whomever I meet.

Yes, we have come together by grace, in gratitude and scintillating happiness. Gracias, Gurumayi.

a Siddha Yogi from Buenos Aires, Argentina

After participating in A Sweet Surprise, I want to express my gratitude to Gurumayi for her compassion and love, and for the unique ways in which she uplifts our minds and our lives.

I am grateful to Gurumayi for allowing me to laugh with her and with all the Siddha Yogis around the world, and for helping me understand the power of universal happiness.

I have experienced unique freedom and an inner smile since that event. Gurumayi’s commanding words and reassuring laugh are vibrating in me.

Thank you, dear Gurumayi, for being in our lives.

a Siddha Yogi from Cuttack, India

When I read these shares, I feel as if I am back in the universal hall. I am back in the presence of Gurumayi with the global sangham. The unifying feeling of these shares is tangible. They help me return to my experience of A Sweet Surprise and help keep my study, practice, and experiences vibrant. Thank you to everyone for sharing and to the website sevites.

Thank you so much, Gurumayi, for all your grace and blessings and for this wondrous Siddha Yoga path website.

a Siddha Yogi from Vermont, USA

I am so grateful for the year of mantra japa practice and for the Shaktipat Intensive, which prepared me even better for the depth and richness of the 2014 A Sweet Surprise teaching.

Also, thank you to the SYDA Foundation for reprinting the book Resonate With Stillness. I love this book as a source of contemplation. As I begin to study it anew, I am struck by Gurumayi's loving grace and guidance for January 1, which instructs us that "...a new beginning must be approached with a mystical awareness of its potential." I resolve to approach the Message for 2014 with a mystical awareness of its potential. May we all receive in its fullness all the potential of Gurumayi's loving gift.

a Siddha Yogi from California, USA

Yesterday, I participated in A Sweet Surprise Satsang for the second time, this time in my home. During the pause in the satsang, I opened the windows to let fresh air into the meditation room. The sun was setting, and the sky was full of wonderful pink clouds. I was listening to the music of the webcast and breathing in the brisk winter air. I felt so much peace within me and around me. Waves of joy and anticipation for the new year filled my chest. With every breath, I was welcoming 2014 with love.

Thank you, Gurumayi, for the blessing of starting a new year in your sacred company.

I love how it doesn't matter where you're sitting in the universal hall. It's the same "view" everywhere!

a Siddha Yogi from Yulara, Australia

Following my participation in A Sweet Surprise satsang, I was amazed as the mantra arose of its own accord. There was no conscious effort, rather the experience of a sweet, blissful space in my heart from which the mantra arose.

Now, days after A Sweet Surprise, my experience of the mantra continues. It seems that Gurumayi's Message for 2013, Mantra Japa, took root deeper inside me as the Message for 2014 was given.

a Siddha Yogi from California, USA

Since participating in A Sweet Surprise, I have noticed that my meditations have been much deeper and the effects are noticeably alive, long after my meditations end each day.

a Siddha Yogi from Iowa, USA

I listened to the Message after reciting Shri Guru Gita on January 2. When I sat for meditation that evening, I couldn't remember the Message at all.  So I went into meditation in my usual way. And there, deep inside, was the Message—like a seed germinating under the ground.

a Siddha Yogi from Sydney, Australia

After hearing the Message, I was stunned for a moment. Then I noticed it echoing in my ears. The thought came to mind that we have become ready to go to the next level in our sadhana. Yes, now we need to reach the space to which Gurumayi is guiding us.

Thank you, Gurumayi, for giving us such a golden path.

a Siddha Yogi from Dombivali, India

From the end of the live-stream broadcast till now, everyone in Gurudev Siddha Peeth—from the youngest project sevite, who is 12, to the elders—are having conversations at meals about our experiences and what we remember from the satsang. In this way, we are helping each other to recall what was said and to share our understandings.

It has been great to be able to share the key teachings that resonated for me and to hear from others about sections of the satsang that I don't remember as well. This way I can reflect on the wisdom from everyone's participation. I feel so fortunate to be here and to have the opportunity to have continuous satsang in this way.

Thank you, Gurumayi.

a Gurukula student in Gurudev Siddha Peeth

It is true that we are connected, sitting together in the universal hall, singing and dancing together. I felt intense happiness within myself. At one moment, the wall of my apartment disappeared and opened up to the space where Gurumayi and everyone were together laughing; and that opened my inner space, too, to unlimited delight.

Thank you, Gurumayi, for this wonderful A Sweet Surprise satsang.

a Siddha Yogi from Nagoya, Japan

Six of us took our seats in the universal hall just as the sun rose here in Anchorage, Alaska. As the snow on the branches of the crabapple tree outside the window turned golden with the light of the sun, I softened inside and settled into the space of the heart, brimming with anticipation.

After darshan, when I left the hall, I thought, "I feel so full!" The unfolding of the Message in all of its dimensions is at this moment before me like a lotus just beginning to spread its petals. I am ready to bloom this year! I am ready to give my all to my Siddha Yoga sadhana!

Thank you, Gurumayi.

a Siddha Yogi from Alaska, USA

In contemplating the New Year's Message this morning, I felt Gurumayi elevating us to a place that scintillates with very refined vibrations. In that place, my sense of individual identity dissolves into the one Self.

What an amazing universal hall we are in, thanks to our Guru's love. As A Sweet Surprise satsang concluded, I could feel the infinite grace of Gurumayi's love for us, and how much she wants us to experience and become established in the state of our own Self.

a Siddha Yogi from Connecticut, USA

After A Sweet Surprise, a fellow Siddha Yoga student shared with me that as a result of the satsang, he experienced that his meditation practice had become "more sublime.” “Me too!” I replied enthusiastically.

We discussed how this might be so. Gurumayi’s grace. Our expanded awareness and understanding of the Siddha Yoga teachings. The collective focus of the entire global Siddha Yoga sangham. A renewed commitment and resolve in our sadhana.

I feel that something quite exquisite happened in A Sweet Surprise that is beneficial not just for us, but for this entire planetfor all that is seen and all that is unseen.

Thank you, thank you, Gurumayi.

In the early morning of January 1st, I stood outside under the stars near a path of luminarias, which illumined the walkway, and welcomed people as they arrived for A Sweet Surprise satsang with Gurumayi. I felt so happy as I stood there, and everything felt new, clear, and bright.

When I entered the hall and the program began, I experienced the beauty of each word and each sound, and strove to remember it all. Afterward, I sat quietly in the hall and let all of the beautiful experiences of the morning flow out into words, into intentions for the bright new year!

Thank you, Gurumayi.

a Siddha Yogi from California, USA

Ever since I heard the Message, Shri Rudram has been playing over and over again in my head. I don't know Shri Rudram by heart, and yet I hear it resounding within me, pulling me into a deep meditative state.

I feel that even if I say thank you every second of every day, it will never be enough.

So, thank you times infinity, Gurumayiji.

a Siddha Yogi from Chennai, India

After I participated in the live stream of A Sweet Surprise in the early morning of January 2 (the time here in Australia), I went for a run with a heart full of love and joy. When I left the house, the sun's light had just started to be seen touching the distant clouds with a deep red color. As I ran, I was blessed with a glorious display of red, pink, orange and golden hues. Moisture from the rain the night before rose to greet the sun, perfumed with the sweet scent of eucalyptus. From the silence of the pre-dawn, birds woke to sing welcome to the new day.

I felt that nature was expressing on the outside what I was feeling on the inside—the glory, splendor, and immense grace of Gurumayi's Message for 2014. It was a beautiful, fresh, new start to the day and the next step of my sadhana. The love and joy are still with me.

Thank you, Gurumayi. I thank you with every particle of my being.

a Siddha Yogi from Horsham, Australia

This year's Message is life-changing; it shakes the very foundation of my being! It is also unbelievably sweet and profoundly thought-provoking. There is easily a year's, or a century's, worth of study contained in this Message. For me, it opens up the possibility of exploring the delicate and precise language and appreciating how Gurumayi uses language to create such a deep pool of infinite wisdom and bliss for us to voyage through.

Thank you so very much, Gurumayi!

a Siddha Yogi from New York, USA

I felt great love and happiness in Gurumayi’s words. It was so sweet to experience her love for everyone. Gurumayi has vast wisdom, and we in the universal hall are very grateful for all her teachings. The Message for 2014 is deep and powerful, and we can learn so much from it.

Thank you so much, Gurumayi.

a Siddha Yogi from Charlottenlund, Denmark

Throughout A Sweet Surprise satsang, the words great heart kept arising over and over in my mind like a mantra. Then during meditation, the two words began twirling and swirling like a dancing anagram, interchanging until the two words appeared like the same word.

Suddenly, my perception plunged deep inside until the only sound and sensation I was aware of was my own heartbeat pumping steadily to the words great heart. My body dissolved, the room dissolved, all boundaries of time and space dissolved, and I felt as if I was sitting with everyone in the universal hall at Gurumayi's feet—together in the ocean of our beloved Guru's grace.

I am so grateful to be a part of this great community.

Thank you, Gurumayi, with all my heart.

a Siddha Yogi from California, USA

It’s marvelous how Gurumayi can make the world, this planet, seem so small and intimate! And how joyfully the wonders of technology manifest her will!

I was moved to tears, sitting in the hall in London, by the realization that there were thousands of Siddha Yogis receiving and listening as intently as I was to Gurumayi’s Message. And as we all listened, with each of us focusing on different words and teachings, each of us remembering different parts, I realized that there is only one body, only one sadhana, and we are all here together, re-membering all our parts. I am therefore not only profoundly grateful to Gurumayi, and to the Swamis and sevites, but also to my other “parts”!  Together we become a force for transformation—of ourselves, each other, and of the entire planet.

a Siddha Yogi from London, United Kingdom

I awoke early on New Year’s Day morning, set up a puja, and offered dakshina to welcome in the new year. This has been my tradition for many years, no matter where I am in the world.

I am currently in a small town in the middle of Brazil and was able to stream A Sweet Surprise 2014 live through my mobile device. The live stream transformed a little section of the pousada (small hotel) into heaven! This is definitely going to be a great year!

a Siddha Yogi from Texas, USA

This morning as I sat on my asana for meditation, I was filled with gratitude for the Message Gurumayi gave to us. I felt I had had a holy bath, and that somehow I was literally transformed from within—that something tangible was there that had not been before.

When I closed my eyes, offered my pranams, and was drawn into my heart, I found it filled with scintillating blue light. Each particle was reverberating with the sound of Om, and though there were as many different tones as there were particles, they were all in total harmony with one another—like a fabric. Most amazingly, the particles were alive. I knew that this was not my imagination.

Thank you with all my heart, Gurumayi, for this gift beyond comprehension.

a Siddha Yogi from New York, USA

A Sweet Surprise satsang for this year 2014 was exquisite and full of joy. It had a wonderful depth of teachings, refinements for sadhana, heavenly music, happiness, contentment of being, and all of us united by grace in infinite love.

a Siddha Yogi from Caracas, Venezuela

Today, while receiving the Message from Shri Gurumayi, a sentence came out of my heart, and that was: "Yes, we are one." Gurumayi is established in the Truth that she speaks about; all of us Siddha Yogis are on the way to becoming established in this Truth; and with this year's Message, our beloved Shri Guru has revealed one more step towards that goal.

Thank you, Gurumayi, for your incomparable grace and compassion.

I left my home at 5 a.m. Wednesday morning to drive to a center to participate in A Sweet Surprise satsang. There was very dense fog during the entire one hour and twenty-minute drive. However, I prayed for grace and continued to drive mindfully and carefully. I arrived safely, and I am so thankful I made the effort to reach my destination. A Sweet Surprise is truly a golden gift. I drove through a lot of fog to get there, but once I arrived, I was immersed in the shining sun of the Guru's love and grace.

Thank you, Gurumayi, for joining us in the universal hall. You opened my heart, and I am grateful.

a Siddha Yogi from Washington, USA

With each A Sweet Surprise satsang, I feel, "This is it! It can't get better." But it does. It has been almost twelve hours since I participated in A Sweet Surprise satsang, and I feel as if I'm still there in the universal hall. And I just don't want to leave. So much love! Such a blissful experience!

I'm filled with immense gratitude to all the sevites in the SYDA Foundation and all over the world in various Siddha Meditation centers because of whom we can all, time and again, participate so comfortably and easefully in these beautiful events.

Gurumayiji, no words can convey the amount of gratitude and love I feel right now. How blessed we all are, to be walking this golden path under your guidance and grace!

I was at work on New Year’s Day during the live stream of A Sweet Surprise satsang. There was a moment when I sat down at my computer and felt a huge rush of excitement and shakti, as though I was on the brink of something extraordinary. I looked at the time, and it was the exact moment the live stream began! I felt such longing to participate, and also such joy that the event was taking place, and so grateful for Gurumayi’s presence in the lives of all of us around the globe.

My husband and I will be participating in A Sweet Surprise together tomorrow. We have a babysitter for our children, so we will be able to fully dive in. I keep coming back to the Siddha Yoga path website a number of times each day to read the shares, which makes me more excited and amazed about what we will be receiving and experiencing when we participate tomorrow. My husband and I are using this time leading up to our participation in the satsang as our preparation time. We are excitedly cleaning our house and preparing ourselves mentally and spiritually to receive A Sweet Surprise!

2 a.m., Sydney. A nighttime vigil. A lit candle and spicy chai. The gentle sound of laughter on the Audio Live Stream, and we are transported into the universal hall, traveling through the inner spaces together.

Gurumayi, it is hard to express the gratitude for being here. Your love is thorough, complete. It is whole and universal. It touches my being in ways I do not understand. May all beings have the opportunity to know the truth of this love.

What a powerful and precious gift A Sweet Surprise satsang brought us for 2014! I have felt the intensity of what Gurumayi gave us penetrating deeper into my being all day. What Gurumayi shared with us was immense and, in my experience, much like an initiation into yet another level of the inner journey. There is much to contemplate and to explore in 2014 and much to savor as well. I am very grateful for Gurumayi's grace.

What an absolutely amazing experience!  As we sat in our kitchen, in the mountains, with views of the garden in full bloom, we were also in the hall with Gurumayi, with the pristine snow all around us.

So much love and such profound teachings! Such amazing grace!

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Gurumayi! Our heads may be in Panama, but our hearts are at your feet.

Participating in A Sweet Surprise 2014 via the audio live stream was magnificent! Being in the universal hall with Gurumayi and everyone around the world deepened my understanding that we are one. Every word spoken filled my heart with gratitude. It is my great good fortune to be a Siddha Yoga student. And my experience in A Sweet Surprise 2014 confirmed that.

Thank you, Gurumayi.

While participating in A Sweet Surprise satsang, not for a single moment did I feel that Gurumayi was far away, in a different country. No, I tangibly experienced her presence in my own being. While chanting, I saw myself in a huge, divinely lit hall, where thousands of Siddha Yogis were chanting with Gurumayi, who was sitting in her chair. I was feeling full inside.

Later on, I realized that the universal hall exists in my own heart. It was a very powerful experience, and I said aloud, “Yes, we are connected!”

Thank you, Gurumayiji.

It was an amazing program, an invaluable experience. It’s so great how A Sweet Surprise satsang can take one to the experience of the Message. The culmination of the experience for me was during the chant. Even though there were just a few of us in the room, we experienced the joy, the feeling of fullness, the freedom, the perfect contentment.

It was a few hours of love, of happiness, of profound and full awareness, of full silence. It felt so good to sit at the Guru's feet.

Thank you for creating and making available such a jewel.

Every aspect of today's A Sweet Surprise satsang felt like absolute love. I experienced the sense of the whole universe being bathed in scintillating, exquisite grace by our beloved Guru. How sweetly she was teaching us—and yet the scope of it all was epic. It felt as if everything we could hope to learn in one lifetime was being shared with us today. I am in love with the Message for 2014.

What made today even more inspiring was participating in this historic live-streaming event with people all over the world. I could feel such a beautiful connection with not only all of our Siddha Yoga global community, but with all living beings. Tears of joy were streaming down my face through much of the program. This Message feels beautifully designed to awaken not only all the people who have been on this path, but the newcomers as well. The abundant gifts of humanity, humor, wisdom, and love that Gurumayi has given us today will surely lead us to great heights in 2014.

Happy New Year, Gurumayi!  I have never felt more honored to be on this path.

Thank you, thank you for the sublime gift of the Message! It is mysterious, mystical, and filled with the promise of divine attainment. And it's so different!

I woke up repeating the Message and have been repeating it ever since. I experience my inner state changing, shifting to a deeper space, which is still, peaceful, secure, and feels like home. It feels as if this is who I truly am—and who my most beloved Guru truly is. In that space, we are not just together; we are one.

A week back, I had the experience that the Guru is with me in the form of the mantra. Today, you are with me in the form of the Message. I start saying the words of the Message, and there you are, my most precious Shri Gurumayi. I love you.

During the closing of A Sweet Surprise satsang, Gurumayi was speaking with so much love. I shut my eyes, and within my heart I spoke the words, "I love you, Gurumayi." So many times I have spoken to Gurumayi in gratitude, or in supplication, or just shared some difficulty or joy. But I never until today spoke of my love for her in pure and simple terms. What a lovely and important moment!

Thank you, Gurumayi, for yet another transformative experience that touches the core of what is meaningful and deeply human.

Ohh....what A Sweet Surprise it was! It was full of pure bliss. I noticed that each of us sitting in that room was smiling and smiling and smiling. I have zero percent doubt that Gurumayi was sitting with us. She was there!

Thank you, Gurumayi, for this Message. Yes, we are connected. We all love you. Thank you for everything.

What a sublime night it has been! At 2 a.m., three of us sat in my home. My computer was ready to receive the live streaming of A Sweet Surprise satsang. There was a beautiful picture of Gurumayi on the table, flowers from the garden, candles, and chocolate in case we needed sustenance.

We didn't need the chocolate. From the moment we entered the universal hall, we were deeply engaged. This is profound nourishment. Time passed so quickly, I was astonished to see a golden light in the sky. When I turned off the computer, I walked outside into the morning. Everything felt new; the garden was sweetly awake and alive. I felt new. I have been in sacred company and have received wise and precious guidance.

Thank you, thank you, Gurumayi. What a divine life you are revealing for us!

a Siddha Yogi from Melbourne, Australia

The word that kept coming up for me was: perfection. The satsang felt like a marvelous dance of Shakti, with delightful surprises at each turn. Each year Gurumayi weaves her magic and grace to lead us deep within, open our hearts wide, and allow us to receive her boundless love on myriad levels.

I feel as if I'm beginning sadhana again in the most beautiful way—and, simultaneously, that Gurumayi gave us everything in this satsang. How very blessed we are to walk the earth led by a jagadguru, our beloved Gurumayi. I'm so grateful the universal hall will be open until March 2nd!

Thank you, Gurumayi. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Happy New Year!

I have just returned home from the most sublime morning attending A Sweet Surprise satsang at the Siddha Yoga meditation center in Greater Boston. Every moment was a gift, and I am steeped in gratitude to Gurumayi and everyone.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I will recommend that everyone who can participate in this event do so. Thank you for making this available to the whole world. It felt as close as being in the hall with Gurumayi.

Thank you so much for making this available to be streamed live! The love and bliss I felt during it was so profound. Thank you! I don't live near a Siddha Yoga Ashram or a center, so having this connection to the practices and to Gurumayi is truly a boon.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Gurumayi for the wonderful satsang A Sweet Surprise. The surge of love and connection to you and to all of the Siddha Yoga family is an auspicious start to what will be a wonderful and fulfilling 2014.

a Siddha Yogi from Iowa, USA

I experienced A Sweet Surprise in my home, overlooking the Hudson River with a distant view of the Catskill Mountains.

Connecting on my computer from my home was simple and I loved having the tamboura playing while I prepared.

I was completely transported. My home was an extension of the hall. I felt the profound connection in every word, in every syllable—a connection so deep, that I am clear now that it is ALWAYS within me to touch my greatness.

Thank you, Gurumayi.
