Twice daily, I visit the temple in my mind. As part of my practice, I pay homage and give thanks to Shri Hanuman for showing me how to serve. However, I've been feeling that my understanding was a little superficial.
The emphasis on Shri Hanuman during this Year of the Monkey is already deepening my understanding of what it means to have such total commitment to service, as he does. This is inspiring me to practice Gurumayi’s Message for 2016 by setting aside petty reactions of the ego, and instead focusing more consistently on one-pointed devotion to the Self, as it manifests in everyone and everything.
Thank you, Gurumayi. And thank you also to the sevites who serve, and to our global sangham
for enriching my life on a daily basis, in ways which I could never have anticipated.

As I saw the image of Shri Hanuman ji, the words devotion
arose in me. I prayed that I may also become so devoted and dedicated, always acting from a pure heart. He was the embodiment of love; he was love in action.
After reading this article, I contemplated what things I have to change in my sadhana
at this particular time. I realized that the only way for me to move forward is by emulating Hanuman: committing myself totally to dedication and devotion, to acting with pure love, and to offering seva,
selfless service, with a pure heart.

Early this morning I meditated, as I often do, visualizing myself in the Bhagavan Nityananda Temple where I love to be. I pictured the statue of Shri Hanuman in the temple and imagined making my way to sit beneath it. As I took my seat, my shoulders relaxed as though from shedding a heavy weight, and I melted into a sweet moment of supreme happiness. My meditation felt easeful and full of grace.
I offer deep gratitude to Gurumayi. I bow to you with steadfastness and faith.

As I do every morning, this morning I opened the Siddha Yoga path website. When I saw the picture of Lord Hanuman, my whole being said, “Yes!” I love Lord Hanuman; he inspires me with his devotion and his humility. I always carry a card with his picture as a reminder to practice his qualities in my daily life. When I learned from the February letter that in Chinese astrology this is the Year of the Monkey, and for us, a year to study and learn about Lord Hanuman, I felt so happy.
Thank you, Gurumayi, for this website that keeps us in touch, and for the stories of Shri Hanuman we’ll be reading this year
