Participate in Meditation Session I
Pranayama: Unveiling the Power of the Breath
Taught by Siddha Yoga Meditation Teacher Gita Sen

In Session I, Pranayama: Unveiling the Power of the Breath, is taught by Siddha Yoga meditation teacher Gita Sen. In this session, participants will practice a pranayama similar to the one introduced in A Sweet Surprise Satsang, and will explore how this breathing technique helps put the mind to rest in the tranquility and peace of the Self. This practice will help participants recognize how pranayama supports their study of Gurumayi’s Message for 2018—Satsang—by connecting them with their own inner Truth.

I was delighted to find links to the different sections of this Meditation Session. They have helped me to access the various elements easily and to gain the most benefit by performing them again and again until I can practice them without instruction.

My breath has been unruly for a while and my meditations challenging. This session is helping me to sink in to easeful meditation.

Cairns, Australia

During meditation, I had a quiet conversation with my breath. I told it what was bothering me. Like a good, trusted friend, the breath listened to me patiently and without judgment. It whispered solutions to my concerns until slowly my mind quieted down and I slipped into a peaceful space.

Later in the day I was able to tackle what had been bothering me and perform the deeds necessary to solve those issues. I am grateful to be reconnected with this “friend”—prana—my counselor and guide within.

During the meditation in this session I quickly arrived at a deep state, and yet remained aware. I felt a broad, sparkling, spirited river flowing through me giving life and light.

Thank you so much, Gurumayi!

For this first session of 2018, I participated from home. As I was meditating, a bird was singing outside my window. I became aware that the boundary that usually separates what is inside me from what is outside had dissolved. The birdsong and the few thoughts that arose were all part of the same field of consciousness. Inside and outside were the same!

This was an experience of openness and expansion, freedom and joy.
I find myself returning to this open state again and again each day, with the same sense of joy.

Thank you, Gurumayi! I am so grateful for this series of meditation sessions.

During the meditation, I experienced a warm, deep pressure in my throat and became aware that for some time I was in a state that was very peaceful, without thought. Perhaps, I thought, I have had a glimpse of samadhi.

The journaling was helpful in bringing my experience to the surface and inspiring me to create a plan of action, so I can cultivate this experience in my day-to-day life.

I traveled to Gurudev Siddha Peeth in my mind today as the meditation session started. I was walking in the sweet and fragrant air of the early morning, sitting on the cool marble floor wrapped in my woolen shawl, sipping sweetly spiced chai, and relishing the shakti permeating the whole Ashram and my being. I could even hear Shri Guru Gita ringing through the courtyard as the early morning sun started to cast its golden rays on us.

Thank you, Gurumayi, for this gift, for taking me, and all of us, on a journey via the breath into the Heart!

For me, starting the meditation sessions from Gurudev Siddha Peeth honors the roots of the Siddha Yoga teachings. And this session has given me an opportunity to feel united with the global sangham in satsang. Even if we are living in numerous different countries, I sense no differences within. Love makes us all one.

As I do not live near a Siddha Yoga Meditation Center or Ashram, I am so grateful for this opportunity to deepen my meditation practice, and to receive this at home. I am beginning to feel the effect of the pranayama on my mind and meditation practice, and I know that continued practice will take me even deeper.

Thank you, Gurumayi, to you and the generous sevites who made this experience possible.

Experiencing satsang today, my birthday, amid a gentle breeze, flowing water, sunlight, and trees, I breathed and practiced pranayama. During this session, I felt expansive and still. As I meditated, I experienced contentment and relished the company of the global sangham. What a graceful satsang.

Thank you, Gurumayi, with all my heart for this most wonderful birthday gift!

Florida, USA

I am thinking of each session as a gateway to nurturing my meditation practice and refining my understanding of Gurumayi’s Message for 2018. I only need to make the effort to pause, participate, and allow grace to fill me.

The title of Session I, ”Pranayama: Unveiling the Power of the Breath,” evokes deep longing in me to bathe in the waves of my own breath.

I look forward to the blessings of each satsang with our global community, my fellow meditators.
