Happy Holidays 2020

Introduction by Morgan Hooper

The images of winter holiday celebrations in Shree Muktananda Ashram are, for me, like the dazzling ornaments of a Christmas tree or the wondrous hues of light painting the winter sky.

Despite the adventures and misadventures, the winding roads and revelations, that sum up another of earth’s journeys around the sun, at this time of year it is cardinal to turn to the source of light, to celebrate this light with others, and to remember the light is within us.

This year for most of us, the months that have led to the winter of 2020 have undoubtedly taken their toll. As Siddha Yogis, we always have a capacity for joy and a pathway to the abundant tranquility of the heart. A tenet of celebrating the winter holidays on the Siddha Yoga path is to recognize the universal nature of these holidays. All traditions are honored, all names of the Divine are cherished. Though we may be countries and oceans apart, through our steady intentions, through technology, and invariably with our Guru’s blessings, Siddha Yogis are always connected as one. We are one great gathering of seekers of the Truth, one family joined from heart to heart.

This Happy Holidays Gallery is a celebration of the light within us all—and within all spiritual traditions. Whether it is the lights of the Christmas tree, the candles of Hanukkah and Kwanza, or the sacred flames of the arati lamp, that sacred light unites us. I invite you to behold these exquisite images in celebration of this time.

I sincerely wish you and your loved ones a safe and exuberant winter holiday!
