For several days, I had awakened feeling sad, often for no apparent reason. But there was no day that I forgot to practice Baba’s teachings. Today, before doing so, I prayed to Baba to help me calm my turbulent state. As soon as I heard the sound of the tamboura, I began to feel relaxed. I contemplated Baba’s teaching and applied it during the dharana. I found that as I listened for the pulsation of Om with each breath, my heart opened, and energy, strength, and dignity flowed into my being.

It has been wonderful to have this daily appointment with Baba’s teachings during the month of May.

The moment I began to practice the dharana, I felt a subtle shift in my state and awareness. Then, as soon as I started to meditate, my breath settled into an even and natural rhythm. This allowed my mind and heart to remain in a very quiet place—so much so that I was able to stay there for quite some time following meditation. What a gift these teachings from Baba and these grace-filled dharanas have been.
