Gautam Ezra Kottler was introduced to the Siddha Yoga path as a young child, by parents who attended satsangs at the Siddha Yoga Meditation Center in Los Angeles. After offering music seva over many years, Gautam currently offers seva in the SYDA Foundation as a writer.

Gautam earned a bachelor’s degree from Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York, and a PhD in biological sciences from George Washington University in Washington, DC. Gautam is a conservation scientist living in Denver, Colorado.
