Gita Haddad began practicing the Siddha Yoga teachings in the 1970s, a few years after having darshan of Baba Muktananda and reciting Shri Guru Gita during Baba’s Second World Tour visit to Manhattan, New York. She has served as a Siddha Yoga meditation teacher for more than thirty years, teaching in courses, workshops, and retreats, including the Pilgrimage to the Heart Retreat in Gurudev Siddha Peeth in India. She has offered seva for many years in various capacities in the SYDA Foundation.

Gita received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts and a master’s degree in education from Fitchburg State University, also in Massachusetts. She is now retired after forty years as a schoolteacher, working with children between the ages of three and twelve.Gita and her husband, David, live in Ashburnham, Massachusetts.
