About Gopi Maurer

Gopi Maurer began her Siddha Yoga practice in 1975 when she participated in a Siddha Yoga Shaktipat Intensive held in honor of Baba Muktananda’s birthday at the Siddha Yoga Ashram in Oakland, California. From 1979 until her passing in 2021, Gopi offered seva in a variety of capacities from her home, in her local Siddha Yoga meditation center, and in Siddha Yoga Ashrams. Most recently, Gopi served as a writer in the SYDA Foundation.
Gopi held a bachelor’s degree in English from Wellesley College and a master’s degree in human behavior from Oblate College, both in Massachusetts. Gopi always inspired and supported the people around her while sharing with them both her joy and her inveterate calm. Gopi will long be remembered for her love and devotion and for the way she uplifted others.
