About Kara Miller

Kara Miller began following the Siddha Yoga path in 1993. As a visiting sevite at Shree Muktananda Ashram, Kara offers seva in the Premotsava Department. She served on staff from June 2002 to January 2003 in the Multimedia Department. Kara has also served in the Accommodations, Flower, and Shakti Punja departments in Shree Muktananda Ashram and Gurudev Siddha Peeth.
Kara is a dancer and an assistant professor in the Department of Theatre and Dance at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. She has a BFA in dance from The Juilliard School in New York City, an MFA in dance from the University of California, Irvine, and a PhD in performance studies from the University of California, Davis.
Kara collaborates internationally with artists and dancers to create and perform in experimental dance productions, installations, and films. Her choreography and creative work have been presented in the Americas, Asia, Europe, and the Pacific. She lives in Hawaii with her partner, Larry Asakawa.
