Raghu Butler was introduced to the Siddha Yoga path in 1970. He has served on staff as the Facilities Department Head at the Siddha Yoga Ashram in Oakland since 1994. Prior to this, in the 1980s and early 1990s, Raghu served on staff in Gurudev Siddha Peeth and Shree Muktananda Ashram; he offered seva in a number of areas, including in the Siddha Yoga Bookstore and the Garden Department.

Raghu received a BA in economics from Dartmouth College and a MBA in marketing from Amos Tuck School. He lives in Oakland, California, with his wife, Gomati.
