Update from the Board of Trustees Regarding Storm Sandy
Dear Siddha Yogi,
As most of you know, on Monday evening, October 29, 2012, all of Sullivan County, New York, where Shree Muktananda Ashram is located, lost power due to the impact of Storm Sandy.
Today we have good news about Shree Muktananda Ashram. Yesterday evening,
November 2, at 9:30 p.m., electrical power was restored! All the sevites in
Shree Muktananda Ashram applauded enthusiastically. Sevites appreciated having the power back on, both for personal comfort and to carry out the work of the
SYDA Foundation.
We extend our thanks to the many power companies that came to Sullivan County from different parts of the USA and Canada, to help restore power to the area. The Canadian company that finally restored power to Shree Muktananda Ashram is from a town in the province of New Brunswick called Blissfield!
There is a tremendous amount of clean-up left to do throughout Sullivan County and on the Ashram grounds. Many dedicated organizations—both government and non-government—and countless volunteers are supporting the clean-up and relief work.
We also want to share with you that throughout the storm the Siddha Yoga Ashram in Manhattan, New York, retained all electrical power and telephone service has been restored after being out for one week. The Siddha Yoga Ashram in Boston, Massachusetts, lost power for only two hours on Tuesday, October 30. The Siddha Yoga Sadhana Retreat in Boston entitled Experience the Light of the Self continued as scheduled.
We invite you to view Photo Gallery 2, posted last night on the Siddha Yoga path website. The gallery gives you a picture of what has been happening in Shree Muktananda Ashram during this time.
We thank all of you who have been offering your blessings and prayers for everyone affected by Storm Sandy in North America and the Caribbean. Your offerings are much appreciated by many grateful hearts.
With best regards,
SYDA Foundation Board of Trustees
