Nirvāṇa-ṣaṭkam

A Hymn by Adi Shankaracharya

In her Message talk for 2019, Gurumayi speaks about the mind rising above its fluctuations and recognizing its true nature. In describing the elation the mind experiences, Gurumayi mentions the words of the great sage Adi Shankaracharya in his Nirvāṇa-ṣaṭkam, the “six-verse hymn on liberation.”

On this page is an audio recording of Nirvāṇa-ṣaṭkam, along with the words of the hymn and their meaning. You may listen to and sing this hymn as part of your study and practice of Gurumayi’s Message for 2019.
