This teaching, “The invention of time,” seems a complex use of the word invention because without time there would be no unfolding of “the play of Consciousness.” Because God has given us time, this allows each of us to be a creator as time unfolds moment to moment. For instance, babies are conceived and born, which is perhaps one of the greatest “inventions” of time; great music has been composed throughout time; great inventions have occurred in medicine and industry—and each moment of time gives us the opportunity to reinvent ourselves through the teachings given to us by Gurumayi.

I am grateful for “the invention of time” because it seems that life is not static but a dynamic composition with infinite possibilities for creation and dissolution. I am grateful for this thought-provoking teaching.
