As I continue to meditate on and contemplate the Guru’s teachings for In the Presence of Time, the bliss of Consciousness permeates my day-to-day awareness more and more, whether I am engaged in a conversation, having a meal, taking a walk, or working. When I am immersed in the awareness that everything I see and hear is a form of the play of divine Consciousness, I experience that “the delightfulness of time” is the same as the bliss of the inner Self.

I love this concept of time being delightful and when I simply repeat “The delightfulness of time,” time feels delightful.

Participating in the Siddha Yoga Audio Satsang in Celebration of Baba Muktananda’s Birthday was a time of delight for me. Every part of it was delightful. The feeling of delight spread into all my activities for the rest of the day—cooking, gardening, reading, just being.

I realized I can create “the delightfulness of time” by engaging in life-affirming activities and holding an uplifting attitude. For instance, doing something kind for someone, adhering to the dharma of my life, doing mantra japa, and feeling gratitude all bring about the experience of delightfulness.

In my daily life, I have the opportunity to create “the delightfulness of time” simply by being in the present. I experienced this yesterday as I walked through my village on a sunny day. When I saw neighbors working in their gardens, I said a few words of appreciation that led us into a pleasant dialogue. I felt connected to everyone and everything.

With dedication to the practices and devotion in my heart, I experience “the delightfulness of time” increasing in my life over time. Gradually, I am more able to witness external events and people without being affected. While I can still be pulled into the maya of the world, I remember the way back to my heart more often. Then, with the enormous support of the Guru’s teachings and grace, I feel restored to “the delightfulness of time.”
