In the morning after my walk, I was looking at the blue sky in an open space in the fresh green forest. I heard birdsong and saw white clouds in the blue sky. Then, from within, I heard a faint sound—a whispering wave, accompanied by the sound of birdsong. In it, I could feel “the easefulness of time.”

I am always aware that even during such events as earthquakes and wars, time remains undisturbed. In my understanding, “the easefulness of time” comes from the very foundation of the universe, which is the Self.

Yesterday I was talking with my neighbor, and during this time her dog came into my garden, and it upset her. Then, when the dog entered the house through the open door, it upset her even more. Looking at the scene with an easeful mind, I calmly entered my house and returned with the dog, who had caused no damage.

From this experience, I understood how important my inner state is in protecting me and my environment. When I enter into “the easefulness of time,” I become absorbed in my inner joy—the joy of the Self—and it carries an outward positive effect.
