Arnold Drogen

In 2009, Arnold (Yogi Ram) Drogen returned to the SYDA Foundation Board of Trustees, having previously served on it for 20 years from 1984 to 2004. A business owner and community leader, Arnold is the president and chief executive officer of Drogen Electric Supply and Drogen’s Home Furnishings in Oneonta, New York. He is also on the board of Hartwick College in Oneonta.

Arnold received a BA degree from Union College, Schenectady, New York, graduating magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. Following a year of study at the Sorbonne in Paris, he was awarded a Thomas Watson Fellowship to conduct postgraduate studies in African music and dance. Continuing his graduate work under a Hickman Graduate Fellowship at the University of California, Berkeley, Arnold received an MA in theater directing.

Arnold began his Siddha Yoga practice in 1974 in Oakland, California.
