Michael Karlin
Michael, a certified public accountant, is a founding partner of Nigro Karlin Segal Feldstein & Bolno, LLC, a leading business management and accounting firm representing high net-worth individuals and some of the most respected and recognized names in the entertainment industry. The fifth largest such firm in Los Angeles, with a staff of 340 and with additional offices in New York and Newport Beach, it provides a broad range of financial and managerial services to its successful clientele.
Michael has served as a trustee of the SYDA Foundation since 1988. He also serves as treasurer of the SYDA Foundation.
He attended the University of Southern California, where he received a BS in accounting in 1976 and an MBT (Master of Business Taxation) in 2010. After obtaining his undergraduate degree, Michael worked for five years in the tax department of the international accounting firm of Ernst & Whinney (now known as Ernst & Young).
Michael serves on the board of directors of the Motion Picture and Television Fund, a philanthropy founded in 1921 by Charlie Chaplin, Mary Pickford, Douglas Fairbanks, D.W. Griffith, and others to provide a safety net of programs and services for people working in the entertainment industry. He also serves on the board of Westcoast Sports Associates, a public charity supporting athletic programs in the Los Angeles inner city. He is a member of the Board of Advisors at his alma mater, the USC Leventhal School of Accounting.
