August 3, 2014
Dear Siddha Yogi,
It’s my great delight to announce the title for this year’s Global Siddha Yoga Shaktipat Intensive in honor of Baba Muktananda’s Mahasamadhi:
Chanting Is the Way
In Hindi, the title is:
Nāmasankīrtana hī upāya hai
In the Shaktipat Intensive, Gurumayi Chidvilasananda bestows shaktipat diksha—the initation that begins a seeker’s sadhana, the awakening of Kundalini Shakti.
Throughout this year, Siddha Yogis have focused on the practice of chanting as a way of studying Gurumayi’s Message for 2014. The melody, the syllables, the subtle vibrations of a chant all lead us to the soundless sound.
As the teacher for this year’s Shaktipat Intensive, I can tell you that the Intensive is the perfect way to learn more about why we chant: to arrive at the experience Gurumayi describes in her Message for 2014. We will study Gurumayi’s and Baba’s teachings on chanting in the Intensive—and we will chant, and chant, and chant!
The Shaktipat Intensive, Chanting Is the Way, will take place in India on Saturday, October 11 or Sunday, October 12, and in all other locations on Saturday, October 25 or Sunday, October 26. Details on registration will be available soon on the Siddha Yoga path website.
In these months leading up to October, I encourage you to prepare for the Shaktipat Intensive with the practice of chanting.
