Darshan of Gurumayi’s Message Artwork for 2018

January 1, 2018

Dear seekers,

Happy New Year!

On the Siddha Yoga path we are so blessed to commence the New Year by participating in A Sweet Surprise Satsang and receiving from our Guru, Gurumayi Chidvilasananda, a Message that guides our sadhana.

We’re also fortunate to receive Gurumayi’s Message in a visual form. Gurumayi’s Message Artwork for 2018 is a tangible means by which to continue to study and experience her Message. Through this Artwork, Gurumayi imparts the deeper meaning of the Message. We have another sublime tool for sadhana as we begin our own exploration.

It is my honor to invite you to have darshan of Gurumayi’s Message Artwork for 2018. You will find, as you rest your gaze on the different aspects of this Artwork, that it reveals more than what meets the eye.

One way to be with the Message Artwork is to focus on it as a means to enter meditation. As you meditate on its form, hues, and texture, let it take you to the source of light within.

Set aside at least fifteen minutes to do the following:

  • Begin by taking a few moments to observe the natural rhythm of your breathing.
  • Then give your full attention to the Message Artwork. Allow its shapes and colors to enter your awareness.
  • Meditate.
  • After meditation, take a moment to record your insights about Gurumayi’s Message and Message Artwork in your journal.

Inspired by reading what others have shared, today I decided to take a fresh look at the Message Artwork. I’m so happy I did.

I, too, sensed the central part of the Artwork pulsating in rhythm with my breath. This took me to a peaceful, still, stable—and yet remarkably vibrant—center inside.

As I looked at the background colors and the pulsating, star-like center of the yantra, I felt a new confidence that I could integrate all the colors of my life’s activities into one creative and harmonious whole.

Later, when I encountered distractions, I brought myself back to my experience of the Artwork and allowed it to re-center me in my quiet, vital center.

How wonderful!

During the last satsang at our local Siddha Yoga Meditation Center, we meditated on the Message Artwork. While gazing at it, I focused on what looked to me like a red jewel at the center, radiating energy in all directions. That energy seemed not only to radiate outward, but to be returning to and merging with the center, the jewel. And then I saw the jewel pulsating—like a heart.

When I closed my eyes in meditation, I visualized the Artwork and felt as if I was entering into it and finding warmth and comfort. Later, as we chanted Om Namah Shivaya, I was filled with love.

From this experience, I have realized that my purpose in coming to satsang again and again, year after year, is to feel this love. This love has been nourishing me and helping me to grow.

Thank you, Gurumayi!

The first time I studied the yantra, I noticed how the shading and shapes gently swept my eye to the central point, the red dot. My eyes rested on this point and radiant light emerged—like white sunbeams. Then I saw Gurumayi appear from the center of the light, with a radiant smile. This experience was a profound reminder for me that Gurumayi’s state permeates everything she gives us.

I understood that everything we create is an embodiment of the care we put into it. This experience and realization has inspired me to take one of my long-term art projects to a deeper level and care sweetly and lovingly for each detail, so the art will be an embodiment of love.

I experience the Message Artwork yantra as the Guru—an eternal beam of light that represents the Truth, permeating everything.

The more I have its darshan, the more the yantra awakens in me a knowing on increasingly deeper levels. Throughout the day, when alone or when interacting with people, I am more often experiencing bliss and clarity.

Through contemplation of the Artwork, my spiritual practices have been infused with renewed energy.

My first experience of Gurumayi's Message Artwork was seeing that the yantra seems to be traveling as if covering all distances at once. The very soft light emanating from the yantra seemed to me like the winter sun—healing and approachable, comforting. The yantra seems to move in and out like a dome made of pure gold, both fixed in place and traveling in space and time. I found its ruby center very beautiful, and am touched by the soft radiance that seems to give life to and sustain the image.

When I was viewing Gurumayi‘s beautiful Message Artwork, I noticed that it felt so alive, like a living being. It seemed to pulsate and radiate love and light. It seemed to reach out to me.

I closed my eyes and welcomed this beautiful gift. I experienced the Message Artwork still pulsating and radiating love and light as it seemed to hover over me, looking for a place to settle. It hovered over my head and then landed like a soft flower petal in the middle of my chest.

I felt as though my being accepted the Artwork and integrated it into my existence. I felt love and light streaming out of my heart, and within I heard Gurumayi saying, “Share this love.”

Thank you, Gurumayi, for this inner guidance.

I look at Gurumayi’s Message Artwork.
I close my eyes.
I meditate.
I see the image as my heart.
The Artwork is a mirror of my heart.

My first experience of Gurumayi's Message Artwork for 2018 was its beautiful and powerful presence, exuding peace and healing vibrations. I felt like I could dive right into the center of the yantra and rest there for a very long time.

Meditating on the yantra is truly extraordinary. I can feel the healing rays of the sun through the yantra energizing me from deep within. All the colors enliven my being as the ruby center and the golden rays enter my heart and mind, bringing a deep sense of peace and tranquility.

I have this beautiful yantra planted in my memory, and the experience of it in my heart—I can call it forth at any time.

Today, after my hatha yoga practice, I had the idea of contemplating Gurumayi´s Message Artwork for 2018 to enter meditation.

Later, I opened the Siddha Yoga path website and, to my surprise, I saw Swami ji´s invitation to contemplate the Message Artwork and meditate afterwards.

I am amazed at the connection that my heart and mind have with Gurumayi´s Message for this year.

I contemplated the yantra in Gurumayi's Message Artwork for 2018, and then I meditated. During meditation, I perceived a radiant light in the center of my heart. And I felt at peace with the fact of being a human, with thoughts, feelings, and a physical body. I felt free. I felt alive and happy. Rather than perceiving my thoughts, feelings, and physical body as obstacles to the experience of the One, I felt that God was alive through them.

Thank you, Gurumayi, for your love and your endless blessings. I am really grateful for this experience.

Viewing Gurumayi’s Message Artwork for 2018 makes me so happy. The luminous colors and golden sun in the middle radiate joy!

For several months now I have been in the habit of going outside to allow the rays of the morning sun to penetrate my being, and this beautiful yantra reminds me of taking in the warmth of the sun and viewing all the colors of nature that come to life by its light-energy.

Thank you, Gurumayi, for this incredible gift.

As I focused on the point at the center of the yantra in Gurumayi's Message Artwork, my mind began to create the image of a home with a fireplace in the center. Continuing to focus on the central point, I realized, I do live in this house—I am that point at the center.  As I continued to focus, the entire yantra came alive with movement and it glowed, except for the point at the center, which remained still and clear.

Wow! Happy New Year!
