Nature Gallery III

On the Siddha Yoga path, we acknowledge the presence of the Divine in all of creation—and this divinity is revealed in myriad forms in the natural world. The beauty and wonder we find in nature can inspire us, as seekers, to recognize the beauty within us and everywhere around us.

The Nature Gallery contains photographs taken in the wondrous environs of Shree Muktananda Ashram, where Gurumayi currently resides. The Ashram is located in upstate New York, surrounded by expansive forests and rolling hills, brimming with wildlife. Take your time as you view the gallery. Allow the images to transport you to the serene stillness of the Guru’s abode, and let nature’s splendor connect you to the splendor of your own great heart.

To me, gentleness is one of the greatest strengths. Each of these photos shows me how the gentle heart creates an environment of trust. Even the chipmunk seems trusting, surrounded by the gentle, expansive, meditative spirit.

Thank you so much, Gurumayi, for this gallery.

In this Nature Gallery, my eye was drawn to the multiple shades and shapes of green in the photos, reflecting the bounty of summer that heralds the autumn colors yet to come.

Some shades were bright and others muted, some shapes were slim and others broad, some plants grew tall while others stayed low. I took delight in the diversity of the images, from the feathery ferns beneath towering trees to the delicate vine twining down a porch fence, from the prickly thistle bearing its pink flower to the thin blades of grass through which a butterfly danced.

Because green is often seen as the color of life itself, it seemed to me that these photos were whispering to me, "Honor all of us forms of life—the mighty and the minuscule, the delicate and the sturdy, the dainty and the dramatic. We are all created with love by the same God, we are all precious carriers of the same life force."

It was a sweet moment of communion and insight for me.

What these photographs offer me is the reminder of the vast in the small, the grand in the everyday, love in the tiniest detail and largest landscape. This is a true blessing. Thank you.

The Nature Gallery is one of my favorite minisites on the Siddha Yoga path website.

I am always delighted to see the amazing photos of the beautiful and sacred grounds around Shree Muktananda Ashram. It seems as if these photos radiate an energy that instills a profound love of nature and helps me to become aware of how significant the smallest shrub, wildflower, or tree stump is. And I am inspired to renew my commitment to respecting and preserving all aspects of  these glorious living entities.
