Namaste.
On June 23 and 24, 2015, a divine celebration of Shri Gurumayi’s Birthday took place in Shree Muktananda Ashram and all around the world. The jubilant celebration continues through this Account, titled, “In Step with the Heavenly Beat.” As many of you have shared, by reading the Account, you are, without a doubt, participating in this historic event.
I had the great joy of offering seva as the event director on those sacred days in June. And as I read your experiences of the Account, I marvel at how this celebration of our Beloved continues to unfold.
On the eve of Gurumayi’s Birthday, as we witnessed the heavens rejoice with streams of diamond-like rain, Gurumayi made a request of each and every one of us. She asked us to be active participants in this celebration.
Gurumayi’s words continue to resonate in my mind and in my heart. I have been contemplating Gurumayi’s teaching to be an active participant. When I actively participate in the moment at hand, I become attuned to the rhythm of the Heart; I begin to move, and speak, and think in accordance with this rhythm. Then I am more able to notice the play of life that is laughing and singing all around me, and I experience life as a celebration. I recognize that this is what Gurumayi is teaching us—to live each moment “in step with the heavenly beat.”
