This wonderful arati brought me back to Gurudev Siddha Peeth, where the light of Bade Baba, Baba, and Gurumayi pervades the atmosphere. The sweet voices of the singers are absolutely present and alive. As I listen to this beautiful music, I feel my heart chakra and ajna chakra light up in response to the shakti.

My experience in listening to Arati Lijo expands my anticipation of being with Baba’s energy in the upcoming Audio Satsang in Celebration of Baba Muktananda’s Birthday.

The sound of the tablas immediately quiets my mind, my breath evens out, and I am in a peaceful state. I am swaying to the rhythm and smiling inside and outside. I am listening—to the sound of bliss.

Arati Lijo is such a great prayer to Bade Baba and to Baba. It was the first prayer I heard in the Temple during my stay in Gurudev Siddha Peeth at Christmas in 1986. It was such a great experience to honor God along with many other people.

As I listen now to the melody and read the text, I feel love and joy.

As I was listening to Divya Jyoti, my heart melted. Arati Lijo says it all! The musical ensemble of Gurudev Siddha Peeth sings with so much unity and devotion, as they express their love for our beloved Gurus.

Each and every day, I am amazed and moved to be one of those fortunate souls walking the sacred Siddha Yoga path. It is a mystery—a sweet mystery that makes me “smile at my destiny.”

This beautiful rendition of Arati Lijo by the music ensemble in Gurudev Siddha Peeth brought to mind in vivid colors the first time I met Baba in person.

It was in Santa Monica, California, in 1980. Baba's car pulled up, and out he stepped, beaming a smile of greeting and blessing for all. As he moved down a path lined with people, he waved to one person, nodded to another, stopped to exchange a few words with someone else. The very air around him sparkled with light, as if he were at the center of a radiant field—like the radiance emanating from a candle flame.

As I listened to Arati Lijo today, I felt that the ensemble was expressing through music my initial experience of Baba. I also felt how exquisite it is to experience this divine radiance within my own being through the Guru’s grace and guidance.

What a sweet morning it has been, listening to Arati Lijo and hearing the birds singing along, joining in the divine light! I feel this is the start of a day full of hope, full of peace.

When I saw the photo for Divya Jyoti accompanying Arati Lijo, I immediately felt the steadiness, silence, stillness, and power of the divine flame. I felt the power of Shri Guru's steady gaze that keeps the light within always burning and tuned to hope.

I pray to always honor this light and hold it for myself and others.

I remember the first time I heard this beautiful arati in Gurudev Siddha Peeth. The soothing melody instantly melted my heart, and I began to sway to its tune, joining in with the refrain. Since then, I silently sing the refrain every morning as I offer pranam to my Guru's pictures.

When I saw Arati Lijo on the website today, I felt so happy and sang the entire arati aloud with the recording.

As I listen to the sweet melody of Arati Lijo, my body starts swaying with joy. I imagine Bade Baba walking through a jungle and coming towards me. I imagine Baba smiling at me, fully present, magnificent, and filled with love. I start singing along and find myself absorbed in the magic of this gift.

I am delighted to find Arati Lijo as one of the elements on the Siddha Yoga path website during Baba ji's birthday month this year. Since my first days practicing Siddha Yoga, this arati has been my favorite. I have fond memories of singing it to Bade Baba in the Temple in Gurudev Siddha Peeth at noon, while naivedya, the sacred food, was offered to Bade Baba.

The lilting melody and the beautiful words move my heart when I sing it.
