What joy, what a treasure, to rediscover “Anukampa”! I watched the different video chapters throughout the day and let them vibrate within me and drench me with love.
When Gurumayi offered
puja to Bade Baba in Chapter 5, I felt her devotion and also felt devotion within myself. In chapter 10, when Gurumayi cut the birthday cake and had fun with everyone, I felt I was right there in the hall. For me, the Guru’s presence is beyond time and space.
When I think I cannot ever be more grateful for all I receive, I rediscover another moment which immerses me in the Self. There seem to be infinite chambers within me, each and every one filled with infinite ecstasy.

As I reflect on my own experience, I remember that when I offer

On the eve of Gurupurnima, in preparation for that exquisite occasion, I dedicated time to viewing Anukampa. As I viewed all the beautiful chapters, I became immersed in the sounds of each chapter and my mind became so present and receptive. Pretty soon the sounds surrounding me while I sat at my desk were no longer separate from the rising and subsiding of my own breath.
As Anukampa culminated in Chapter 11, Shri Gurumayi's Blessings, I was present to receive Gurumayi's teachings in a way I had not experienced before. It was like her teachings were blossoming up out of silence and dissolving into the light of my awareness, permeating my being.
I will continue to practice listening attentively with my whole being while noticing my breath, as a way to hear the soundless sound and experience the space of flawless quietude.
Thank you, Gurumayi, for your Message for 2014 and for giving us the means to experience the all-encompassing, scintillating, velvety space of pure silence that is the foundation of all that exists.

Naivedya when it was raining. I liked it when Gurumayi said that they broke the coconut by the lake and that is exactly when the rain came! And when she said, "How come you don't have your umbrellas?" I liked when she danced with the little baby. I felt devotion, joy, contentment, love, silence, and trust when I saw that part. I really appreciate Gurumayi and what she does.

For the past eight years, I have offered seva in Shree Muktananda Ashram as part of the team baking Gurumayi's birthday cake. This year, a few days before her birthday, I was in the dining hall just before lunch when Gurumayi walked past me. For two or three seconds afterward, I felt a state of being that I recognized as the state of the
atman, the Self. I truly felt that God was walking in front of me. I believe this is the state that Gurumayi lives in and that I am striving for. My experience, though brief, was so powerful and complete that I feel confident that the state of liberation is indeed possible for me.
Then, on her birthday, after the
naivedya ceremony, I was offered a tiny portion of the slice of cake that Gurumayi had held in her hand. As I put the piece of cake in my mouth, I was so choked up that I could barely speak. I became so overwhelmed with waves of love that I excused myself to go to a private room where I cried in joy with my whole being for several minutes. It was so beautiful.

I have been watching the Anukampa videos daily, and each time I learn something new. When Gurumayi held the little baby in the video “Offering of Food,” I felt I was the baby in Gurumayi's arms. And then later, when the little girl, a toddler, ran up front to be near the chanters, her mom stepped forward to retrieve her. Gurumayi gently put up her hand indicating, “It's fine—she can stay.” As Gurumayi gazed at the chanters, I felt she was also gazing at the little girl, who was just being a little girl, and didn't appear to notice Gurumayi's gaze. I felt I was that girl, always protected and watched over by the Guru.
I feel I am always being held by Gurumayi. She is always watching over me.

Anukampa is perfect satsang! This morning I decided to participate in Chapters 5-7 as a part of my practice and then I went about my daily duties. In the evening while I was away from home, I recalled Chapter 6, Shri Guru Stuti, and I began chanting Om Bhagavan mentally.

I have begun each of the past few days by viewing a chapter of Birthday Bliss—Anukampa, and pausing throughout the day to view others. This practice has allowed me to understand and experience how present the Guru's grace is at all times.
This morning, I was particularly touched by how alive Gurumayi's Message for 2014 became for me as I watched Chapter 1—Avahana. Listening to the sound of AUM, I experienced quietude. In the arising and subsiding of the waves, I heard the soundless sound. I experienced the soundless sound of the rising sun. Through the movements of the dance of worship, I experienced the flawless quietude within and treasured the soundless sound of gratitude arising from my heart.

My heart was soaked in gratitude by receiving Gurumayi's

When I saw the dancers joyfully offering their graceful movements to Ganesh in his divine garden, I had a wonderful spontaneous meditation experience. It was as if I had personally witnessed that same kind of dancing ages ago in some heavenly world along with many other celestial beings and gods. At that time, I was captivated by the devotion and love of those celestial beings dancing gracefully for Lord Ganesha in his divine garden full of light and all kinds of marvelous wonders. Last night, I experienced an irrepressible urge—to dance! Although I had not set foot in a dance class for twenty years, my feet and my heart pulled me inexorably toward the nearest dance studio, where I signed up as a drop-in student for the class of the day—in hip-hop. Trained in classical ballet, I had never performed steps like these, but as I moved to the music, sheer delight arose within me. I did not want to stop.
When I saw the beautiful offerings of the dancers on the website today, my heart soared. Thank you, Gurumayi, for showing us how dance can serve as a form of worship and can connect us all in a joyous divine celebration. And thank you to the gorgeous dancers.

Today, the Siddha Yoga chanting and meditation group here on Maui celebrated
Birthday Bliss by chanting on the beach. During the chant the clouds covered the sun. As soon as we went into meditation, the sun appeared, and I felt illumined by the Guru's grace. I felt Gurumayi's presence kindling the light inside of me. It was truly blissful.
After a few minutes passed, the clouds again covered the sun and I still felt the warmth of the "flame" illumined inside me. It was like Gurumayi telling me that I always carry this light inside. Moments before the meditation ended, the sun (which I again experienced as Gurumayi) appeared again and it was as if she were saying that she is always there with me—and the light within is always there. It was truly magical, blissful, joyous.

Last night as I was falling asleep, I heard the sound of ocean waves. I wondered where that sound was coming from. I looked at my electronic devices to double-check, but they were turned off. I closed my eyes and the sound of the ocean was present again.
Again and again throughout the night, I would wonder where the sound of the ocean was coming from. Ultimately, I realized it was a divine sound and treasured it as I fell asleep.

I wanted to buy flowers for Gurumayi on the special occasion of her birthday. I walked down to the regular flower stall, but it was closed. I thought to myself, "Perhaps Gurumayi wants me to walk that extra mile to find the flowers." So I decided to walk to a distant marketplace where I knew I would surely find a flower vendor.
When I reached the spot, I found that the vendor had not set up his stall. I thought, “Perhaps Gurumayi does not want these external gestures. Perhaps she wants me to dwell in the inner bliss of the Self." No sooner had I thought this, than I found another open flower stall stocked with beautiful fresh flowers! I bought the flowers and, as I walked back, reflected on the whole experience.
Perhaps Gurumayi wants us to do both. Perhaps she wants us to dwell always in the joy and bliss of the inner Self, and at the same time, to walk that extra mile for the sake of all that is meaningful and beautiful in the world.

Birthday Bliss video, I can feel the stillness at heart of all the beautiful movements. I look out my window and I see nature is sparkling on this
Birthday Bliss day. The trees, flowers, birds and breeze are all dancing so harmoniously, but the feeling is one of stillness.

Shri Ganesha Vandana video, the dancers mingle with nature in the garden so well that their dancing around those benevolent eyes of Lord Ganesh enhances my inner feeling of calm and stillness. It's like a living yantra. In between watching the videos, I look for a long time at Gurumayi's yantra, and feel the same dancing—in toward the still point and out towards the dance of life.
I am grateful and awed that Gurumayi gives so much so that I can see how life can be danced in and out from the still point of inner bliss. What a wonder to have a Guru who teaches through such beauty!

Through myriad colors my eyes are connected to the gaze of the Witness. My ears feast on the tinkle of bells, the resonant tak-a-tak of the drum, the ahhh of the voice, immersing my being in vibration. The whish of the dancers' silks, spinning in motion, brush my own skin with a mother's embrace returning me back to harbor.
