Today, in honor of Baba Muktananda’s
mahasamadhi, I decided to do a full day of practices at home, and to invoke the Guru's blessings at this auspicious time. I started by reciting
Shri Guru Gita and singing
Shri Avadhuta Stotram, followed by chanting, meditating, and reading about
matrika shakti and the mind in Gurumayi’s and Baba's books.
Then I chanted
Om Namo Bhagavate Muktanandaya in the
Jhinjhoti raga, which I think of as the “Ganeshpuri
raga.” As I chanted along with Gurumayi on the recording provided on the website, it transported me to the courtyard in Gurudev Siddha Peeth, to Baba’s feet, and to the timeless heaven that he created there and within my heart.

As I allow the melody and words of this
namasankirtana to flow through me, I experience tears of joy, love, oneness with the universe, and dissolution of the sense of I and mine. This is truly the "Bliss of Freedom."

When I chant Baba’s name with the
Jhinjoti raga, my body spontaneously swings from side to side and I enter mentally into the courtyard of Gurudev Siddha Peeth, where I feel the deep presence of Baba. As I inwardly bathe in that atmosphere, the “tenderness and love” evoked by the
raga make my heart vibrate.

I know this
raga as the one we call
Ganeshpuri raga here in India. As I listen to the chant in this
raga, I am drawn inward and mentally transported to Gurudev Siddha Peeth. Today I feel I am chanting in the courtyard during Baba’s
mahasamadhi saptah, and Gurumayi is leading the chant. I feel so ecstatic. My body, mind, breath, and emotions are composed, and my heart is full of love for Baba as I go deeper and deeper within. In my mind’s eye, I see Baba’s face surrounded by pure, scintillating, blue light.
With gratitude and folded hands, I thank Baba for being with me in my heart.

Listening to this chant while sitting in a café, I have to hold my tears. I see myself transported back to the magical moment of my first encounter with Baba. People around me in the café are coming and going, but I feel only one presence—Baba Muktananda!
This chant, in this
raga, is engraved into my being, my soul, forever. It pulls me into my own bliss! My life and my
sadhana are dedicated to the realization of the greatness of Baba's gifts.

As I opened the Siddha Yoga path website this morning and saw the beautiful photograph of Baba, my heart jumped and filled with joy and tenderness. When the chanting of Baba’s name with Gurumayi appeared, I chanted with all my heart. What a beautiful way to start today!
Thank you, Gurumayi!

I love the melody of
Om Namo Bhagavate Muktanandaya in the
Jhinjhoti raga . When I listen to it, I become silent and tranquil. The very first
Om draws me immediately into a deep state of contentment.
I'm so grateful for the Siddha Yoga path and all the different practices we are given.

Chanting with Gurumayi tonight carried me back many years to the first time I chanted this
namasankirtana shortly after I met Gurumayi and received
shaktipat. The memories then moved like a river through summers at Shree Muktananda Ashram, two glorious winter months in Gurudev Siddha Peeth, and on.
Tonight, with my memories and the chant flowing, my hands began to tap the rhythm against my heart. I experienced Baba as the golden heart and watched the golden light expanding into Gurumayi until I felt the golden glow of
satsang warm in my heart.
