I have made it a daily practice to chant AUM with the sound of the conch, holding the understanding and awareness that the sound of the conch is God calling to me, and that with my voice chanting AUM, I am calling to God. The sound of AUM merges with the sound of the conch in exquisite oneness—God calling to God.
Thank you, Gurumayi, with all my heart for your great love, which manifests in these wonderful teachings, drawing each of us deeper into the experience of flawless quietude.

Contemplating the beautiful shape of this shankha has helped my meditation and chanting practice. I let myself become infused by the shankha shape. My body relaxes, my breathing becomes fuller and deeper, and my throat opens. This expanded, relaxed state supports a freer and fuller sound when I chant.
Thank you, Gurumayi!

I experienced this sound as ennobling and purifying. A celestial sound full of grace and courage. A clarion call for the most noble engagement with my mind. The great facing-up to the habits of my mind.
This sound assures me of victory. Krishna is by my side. The Guru’s grace pours upon me with this sound, and peace comes inevitably. This sound means to me that dharma triumphs. The spirit soars. Yoga flourishes. And the final state is, in some mysterious way, already present.
Jaya Gurumayi!

When I first heard this sound, it transformed everything around me. It was as if I was complete in myself, and everything was pure, and I was at peace and full of love.
I experience this each time I hear the sound. I feel very close to God.

As I listened to the shankha while reading Swami ji’s exposition, I felt myself falling deep into the well of its sound. My breathing slowed, and I felt a great and powerful peace come over me.Gratitude for the beauty of it all brought tears to my eyes.

I offered seva playing the shankha for the evening arati at the Siddha Yoga Meditation Center in Los Angeles many years ago. I can remember how the sound would continue to reverberate throughout my body for the entire length of the arati.
As a musician, I have always been enthralled by sound and by what music and sound can do to change emotions and energy. Listening to this magnificent recording of the shankha, I can hear so many different levels of pitch, so many sounds and notes. And I fall into meditation almost immediately.
The more I listen, the more I am able to remain in my heart and fully connect with Gurumayi’s Message for 2014.
Thank you, Gurumayi, for offering this to the world.

What a sublime gift to be drawn to the space of flawless quietude by listening to the sound of the shankha and experiencing its darshan. I am compelled to be still for a long time, immersed in the power of its sound. My whole being is at peace. I look forward to listening again and again to the shankha and to meditating on the painting of it as a means to explore Gurumayi’s Message for 2014.

The sound of the shankha pierces all other sounds to render my mind serene. I love this serenity. I can experience it anywhere, anytime. It resonates within me well after the last strains of the sound have gone.

In the very beginning of my sadhana, as I sat one morning for meditation, the sounds of the conch and drum seemed to vibrate simultaneously, both inside and outside of me. The unstruck sound I experienced was unlike any sound I have ever heard before or since. The instruments of the physical plane don’t even come close to the beauty and sweetness of the sound I experienced that morning. It was truly celestial.
Today, as I listened to the sound of the conch, I immediately felt the shakti in my forehead, both powerful and constant.

When I closed my eyes and concentrated on the sound of the shankha, it took me within. I was connected with my Self and felt that the sound was originating from within.

As I listened to this beautiful sound, I felt a fine piercing sensation in the center of my chest. In this space, I felt a familiar sense of the preciousness of the heart and the essence of myself as the source and center of everything.
This awareness connected me to the vast spaces of the universe. Light sparkled as it refracted off and shone through all the objects in space. The tiny space within my physical body seemed to contain everything. Every atom and molecule was charged with Consciousness. As I continued to listen, the ‘I’ that I had been became a new ‘I,’ which felt pure love for everything and everyone.
This is the blessing of my Guru, Gurumayi.

Wonderment! This is what happens when I listen to and view the shankha, when I study and reflect on its sound, shape, and color. After a long day of work and activities, of words and noises, I listen to the sound of the shankha and the silence in between its call. And I witness my state of mind changing, becoming lighter.
The sound seems to emerge from the origin of life, from the bottom of the ocean, or somewhere in the cosmos. It sounds like a deep call from a faraway unknown territory, beyond space and time. Its vibrations absorb me entirely.
Thank you, Gurumayi, for giving us this key to enter the kingdom of the Self, an experience of the soundless sound.

Gurumayi’s sankalpa is so palpable. As soon as I begin to listen to the sound of the shankha nada and contemplate the painting, I hear a very subtle and high-pitched inner sound, and I also feel a deep vibration arising in my body as if AUM is resonating throughout my cells and beyond. I love that the sound file loops around and I can let it play for a long time while I sit for meditation. As it resonates, it fills the environment with the presence of grace.
Thank you for this gift!

The darshan of the shankha has filled my heart with the bhava of reverence, love, and stillness. Its image is amazingly divine and soothing to my eyes. My three-year-old son loves it and asks me to show it to him again and again.
The sound of the shankha recording has drawn my attention within. My whole body is vibrating, and in this moment all I want is to meditate.
Thank you, Gurumayi!

Thank you so much for revealing the meanings of Panchajanya and shankha, which until now have remained the mysterious words in the Shankha Gayatri Mantra so beautifully chanted on the CD of Narayana released this year.

This morning, I went into a deep space of stillness for a long time. Being in this space of flawless quietude was exquisite. The stillness filled me. My body felt like a simple sheath holding the fullness and magnificence of it all. As I came out of this stillness and silence, I began humming AUM as if I were continuing what I had been hearing within. A thought passed through my mind, "Is this AUM or is it the sound of the conch?"
After meditation I opened the Siddha Yoga path website and found this gift of Shankha Nada. I was held by the sound of the conch and the silence within it. I thought, "The sound AUM and the sound of the conch are one." I feel a great blessing has been bestowed on us. These teachings and shares on nada are indeed precious.

I turned on the Shankha Nada audio recording, then read Swami ji’s exposition, and sat down to meditate with the picture of the shankha in front of me. I let the sound play for the first five minutes of meditation, and then turned it off.
I live in a busy neighborhood, and it’s very noisy. But during this meditation, I recognized all the sounds of the world as the shankha. The trains, sirens, jet planes, and car horns all became the soothing sound of the shankha. These sounds took me deep into my heart, and I felt I was where Gurumayi wanted me to be.
As I was gently coming out of meditation, I opened my eyes and a soft warm wave of bliss washed over me, as if to remind me that I can continue to live in the experience of the heart as I go through my day.

When I discovered the shankha on the website, right away I took a meditation posture and focused on the sound of the blowing conch. All my concerns just melted away, and I felt peace being installed into my being.

When I was at work last night, I started practicing japa and felt an upsurge of energy and focus. When I returned home, the shankha was on the website, and I realized that feeling began around the same time the conch went onto the website. I reflected on how simply doing the practices had connected me with Gurumayi.
Hearing the sound of the conch wakes me to a new part of my being. Thank you for this physical manifestation of the soundless sound.

What a great experience listening to the shankha—so full of vibration. It sounds like AUM. As I listened to the sound on the website, I began to hear it inside as well, and then it dissolved in the space of flawless quietude. It was wonderful. I felt I was fully experiencing Gurumayi’s Message for this year.
Thank you, Gurumayi, for showering your grace on all in such a wonderful way.

Thank you for this exquisite material on the shankha. I find it so helpful to see its form, hear its pure sound, and learn about its meaning and spiritual significance. Throughout this month, Siddha Yogis’ shares about nada on the website have encouraged me to listen more carefully for sounds that arise from within. As I have done this, I have often become immersed in nada. And now, after having listened to the continuous recording of the shankha for several minutes, I can still hear it reverberating within me.
I am so grateful for all the ways Gurumayi has given us to engage with her Message for 2014. At first, the words the soundless sound seemed so subtle and mysterious to me. Yet now, as I approach the end of the year, the soundless sound has become tangible and real for me. I experience it not only audibly, but also as vibrating energy moving through every part of my body, sometimes roaring within me, engulfing me in waves of ecstasy.
Thank you, Gurumayi. Sadhana feels as fresh and new for me now as it did years ago, when I first began.

Ever since we began this year’s study of Gurumayi’s Message, I have felt a bit left out, since I could not identify having ever heard the soundless sound in all the years of my sadhana. Then one night, I laid my head down upon my pillow while listening to a CD of Om Namah Shivaya, and I heard a loud sound. I was surprised by this because I could not identify where it came from and because it was such an unusual sound. I fell asleep wondering if this was my introduction to nada, the soundless sound.
This evening, I was thrilled to see the beautiful conch, and even more thrilled to know I could hear it played over and over. After the third repetition, it suddenly struck me that this was that sound I had heard as I was drifting off to sleep.
I understood, yet again, that Gurumayi is always providing us with the means to include ourselves in the study of her teachings.

Beautiful shankha! I have never seen one like it. When I closed my eyes and concentrated on its sound, I felt that the sound was coming from my navel.
