I think a secret is a secret because nobody should know it. I then asked myself, “Why should time tell me its secret?”

As I lay in shavasana after my hatha yoga lesson today, I thought, well, I could at least give it a try and just ask time for its secret. And so I asked time, “What is your secret?”

The answer came to me in words and as a feeling. The words were: I do not exist. The feeling was: time is God.

The first thing that occurred to me this morning when I saw this teaching was that “the secret of time” is the secret of life and death. As time is passing every moment, life starts and ends every moment. So, I shall choose not to keep any “baggage” from the moment that is finished.

I also recalled hearing a teaching from Baba Muktananda ji that Lord Shiva creates and destroys all the time. Reflecting on this, I felt Lord Shiva’s bhava within myself and in my actions throughout the day. I am grateful to Gurumayi ji for giving me such an elevated, precious experience.

For me, “the secret of time” is that it is always with me. Time is always available for me to utilize for my upliftment. It generously offers me the space to move deeper and deeper inside. Time is a generous friend who is always there for me. What a blessing!

As I read the teaching “The secret of time,” these words arose within me: I imagine the future, I remember the past, but in fact, I live in the eternal present. Is this the secret of time?
