Baba Muktananda's Divya Diksha

Each year on August 15, Siddha Yogis celebrate Baba Muktananda's Divya Diksha.

Divya diksha, or divine initiation, refers to spiritual initiation given by a Siddha Guru, a perfected master. This initiation awakens the Kundalini Shakti within a seeker.

On August 15, 1947, Baba received shaktipat initiation from his Guru, Bhagavan Nityananda. This moment sparked Baba's journey toward liberation. On this same fortuitous day, India gained political independence from Great Britain.

One of the eight Siddha Yoga holidays, Baba's Divya Diksha is observed in Siddha Yoga ashrams, meditation centers, and chanting and meditation groups with a Celebration Satsang.
