Bhagavan Nityananda's Punyatithi

On August 8 each year, Siddha Yogis honor Bhagavan Nityananda on the day of his punyatithi. This is the day when Bhagavan Nityananda left his physical body and merged with divine Consciousness.

In the scriptural tradition of India, it is said that on the anniversary of a great being's passing, his punya—his spiritual merit—is powerfully bestowed upon those who remember him with love and devotion.

Bhagavan Nityananda's Punyatithi is one of the eight Siddha Yoga holidays. Siddha Yogis observe these sacred days in Siddha Yoga ashrams, meditation centers, and chanting and meditation groups with Celebration Satsangs.
