Images of Nature II

On the Siddha Yoga path, we acknowledge the presence of the Divine in all of creation—and this divinity is revealed in myriad forms in the natural world. The beauty and wonder we find in nature can inspire us, as seekers, to recognize the beauty within us and everywhere around us.

The Nature Gallery contains photographs taken in the wondrous environs of Shree Muktananda Ashram, where Gurumayi currently resides. The Ashram is located in upstate New York, surrounded by expansive forests and rolling hills, brimming with wildlife. Take your time as you view the gallery. Allow the images to transport you to the serene stillness of the Guru’s abode, and let nature’s splendor connect you to the splendor of your own great heart.

I have lingered over each of these exquisite images, drinking in the colors, sensing the moisture in the air—all the while becoming absorbed in a sweet contentment.

This same contentment has been with me continuously throughout my day, as I see the beauty in my own daily landscape.

I am grateful for the Siddha Yoga path website for always uplifting me, inspiring me to enjoy my own existence to the fullest.

Viewing these beautiful images of nature at Shree Muktananda Ashram, my heart burst open with love and blessings for this sacred place. As these blessings and love pour through me, I feel Gurumayi's blessings and love, I feel my own sanctity and gratitude, and I feel that I am standing on holy ground.

It has been so joyful this morning to see the first snow delicately covering the Ashram, bringing me peace and tranquility. I feel I can hear the silence and the freshness that snow brings within itself. That silence is now within me too and turns my awareness within, to remembrance of the Guru. How sweet this feeling is!

In this gallery there is an image of a leaf in the very last moments before it lets go of the tree, the stark beauty of its form against the light.
Over the last two years I've been spending time with my uncle in the last phase of life, being with him as he faces the challenges of a body in process of letting go.

People often come up and say, "Wow, how amazing you're there for him at this time." I have contemplated this a lot because, to me, it feels natural to keep him company, to see him off, so to speak. I have observed that, through facing these challenges, my uncle’s heart seems to become softer and softer, more and more open, and mine does, too!

Through Gurumayi’s grace it has been possible for me to perceive and experience the same exquisite beauty in a human being facing death as in a tree in autumn.

I was moved to see the delicate beauty of each autumnal leaf shine forth in these photos. Whether still possessed of vibrant colors or already fading with every passing day, each leaf offers its own unique outline and visual patterns to the landscape around it and to the appreciative onlooker. Taken together, they remind me that even as the times grow chilly, we too can contribute our beauty and uniqueness to God’s world.

The image of the candle melted into moon shapes evoked such wonder in me! These photos show me how nature loves to celebrate. I feel as if nature is excitedly anticipating Dev Deepavali, her enthusiasm like a child dreaming of Christmas, who draws and creates images continually to evoke the beloved day.

I love the photos capturing the exquisite frost on both the still green grass and the fallen red leaves. The frost's intricate patterns shine clearly in the sunlight before becoming morning dew perhaps a few seconds later. The beauty and delicacy of this moment held me transfixed in curiosity, awe, and bliss. Truly, what a wonderful world!
