This teaching came at a time when I was wrapped up in some emotional disquiet. As I practiced the
dharana, a sense of peace and calm came over me. I recognized it as my natural, true state. Now, when negative thoughts arise, I will repeat the uplifting words of the
dharana and return to that state.
