On the Siddha Yoga path, images of hearts serve as reminders of the great Heart, the Self of all, which is always present—within us and within everyone and everything.
Siddha Yogis especially associate images of hearts with Gurumayi; they remind us of her love for us and our love for her.
A wonderful way you can bring to mind the Guru’s love and grace is by observing heart shapes in the lines and forms of the world around you—in the clouds, flowers, seed pods, tree branches, rocks, movement of water, and more.
After immersing yourself in the images in the Hearts in Nature galleries, notice the effect on your awareness of your own heart as you go about your day. And you may begin to find heart shapes all around you! You are invited to share your experiences here on the Siddha Yoga path website.
Hearts have been appearing in front of me everywhere for several days. Today I was sad after a friend told me that her mother had passed. Later, when I went to get the tealight holder to light a candle for meditation, I found two wax hearts inside of it, one inside the other.
I told my friend about the two hearts and said that I felt her mother would always protect her. This touched my friend very much.
Today, as I opened the Siddha Yoga path website, I saw that a new “Hearts in Nature” minisite had just been posted. It did not seem like a coincidence. I looked at the images with amazement and wonder.

Nature has the power to cleanse the soul; it heals us with its beauty, its peacefulness. Nature has its own love language, and I feel lucky to experience this divine labor of recognizing hearts, the symbol of love, in nature. My soul is happy just looking at each picture that is here.

The picture of the tiny heart-shaped opening in the rough bark of a tree trunk in Hearts in Nature I reminds me that through a tiny opening in my heart during meditation or a daily activity, I can enter the vastness of the Self.

A friend once told me to never ignore anything in the shape of a heart. On my walk today, I was reminded of these words when I noticed an area of snow that had a thawed-out heart shape in the middle. Tonight, I opened the Siddha Yoga path website and happened to find the Hearts in Nature minisite, and I read the introduction. From now on, when I see a heart in nature, I will remember my own Heart—the seat of my Guru—and my deep love for Gurumayi.
