Today, when I first read “Shri Guru’s words” on the Siddha Yoga path website, my mind was agitated with thoughts about another person’s behavior. But then, I decided to meditate on “Shri Guru’s words” in the form of one of the passages from Baba’s “Teachings to Live By” on the website. So, I listened to and meditated on one of Baba’s teachings that was particularly appropriate for my situation. After meditation, my mind felt filled with the divine virtues of kindness and love. My mind was now focused on the awareness that I am a manifestation of God.

For me, “Shri Guru’s words” encompass every teaching I have ever received or will receive from my Guru, in whatever form they may come. I consider these words to be the most precious gift my Guru can bestow, as they play a vital role not just in my spiritual journey, but also in helping me lead a meaningful life. What makes this gift even more special is that Gurumayi doesn’t only impart the words—she also shows me how to work with them. She teaches four steps to working with “Shri Guru’s words,” which I now hold as sacred in my life: study, practice, assimilate, and implement.

I have come to understand that if I don’t follow these four steps, “Shri Guru’s words” remain like a precious jewel left untouched, with its worth unrealized and its benefit unclaimed. To truly receive the gift, I must actively work with it through the very process Gurumayi has so graciously taught me.

For me, “Shri Guru’s words” are full of vibrant energy that embodies blessings, grace, love, and support. I am so grateful that our Gurus have given me so many incredibly valuable books to guide me on my spiritual path toward liberation. I want to read and absorb every single one over and over again.

Gurumayi’s book The Yoga of Discipline is particularly helpful for me. I used to have no idea what discipline was. Then, through Gurumayi’s words, I learned that discipline equals happiness. I have come to realize that my senses have a significant influence on my spiritual development and that I can keep them under control rather than being helplessly at their mercy.

Whenever I read “Shri Guru’s words,” it always feels as though Gurumayi or Baba is speaking directly to me. I thoroughly enjoy being in their uplifting company.
