How Do I Create a Siddha Yoga Online Account?

  • Visit the Siddha Yoga path website and click on the link "CREATE A NEW ACCOUNT", which is located in the top right corner of the webpage.
  • You must validate your new account by responding to an e-mail sent to your e-mail address.
    • For that reason, create your new account a few days before the live audio stream begins.

What should I bring to the satsang?

The following are items to have with you for the satsang:

  • A pillow or cushion to support your sitting posture
  • A meditation asana
  • Water

How do I prepare for the satsang?

How do I participate in the satsang?

The satsang will be held at many Siddha Yoga Ashrams, meditation centers, and chanting and meditation groups. Contact a location near you for details.

If you will be participating from home:

  • Create a comfortable space free from distraction.
  • Take your seat ten minutes before the satsang begins to allow yourself time to fully arrive, settle into the space, and be totally prepared to chant.

What is the length of the satsang?

The satsang is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Who may participate in this event?

Anyone who has an account on the Siddha Yoga path website is welcome to participate in the satsang. There is no prerequisite and no registration fee.

In what languages is the satsang available?

The event will be available on the Siddha Yoga path website in English. Some Siddha Yoga Ashrams, meditation centers or chanting and meditation groups in non-English-speaking countries will have translation in the local language. Please check with the location where you plan to participate.

Do I need to register to participate in this event?

There is no fee for this event. To participate, please sign in on the Siddha Yoga path website using your Siddha Yoga online account.

At what time will the live audio stream become available?

The live audio stream will begin on the Siddha Yoga path website, Saturday, February 13, 2016 10:00 a.m., Eastern Standard Time. Entry music will begin streaming at 9:40 a.m.

At what time will the audio webcast become available?

The recorded audio webcast of the satsang will become available about an hour after the live stream concludes. However, for mobile devices the audio webcast will become available four hours after the conclusion of the satsang.

How long is the event available on the Siddha Yoga path website?

This webcast of the satsang is available until 10:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, Sunday, February 21, 2016.

Is there a recommended browser for the live audio stream and audio webcast?

The recommended internet browsers are Firefox and Google Chrome. Please make sure you have the latest versions of both these browsers installed on your device so that you can test which browser works best for your streaming. If you use another Internet browser ensure that you have the latest version of Adobe Flash Player installed.

Please avoid using Safari, as in some cases the sound for the live audio stream is muted.

Is there a recommended internet speed for participating in the live audio stream?

The minimum recommended Internet speed is 2 Mbps.

How do I change the visual quality of the streaming?

To change the visual quality of the stream:

  • Click on the lines next to the speaker symbol in the lower right of the player (lower arrow in the picture below), a box labelled ‘Select Quality’ will appear.
  • Choose a higher resolution if the still images are flickering, and choose a lower quality if the stream does not load properly.
    • The quality selection only influences the visual quality; the audio quality is the same for all settings.

Can I pause and rewind the live audio stream and audio webcast?

You will not be able to pause or rewind the live audio stream. You will, however, be able to pause, rewind and replay the audio webcast, once it becomes available after the live stream concludes.
