After experiencing the wonder of Gurumayi’s darshan, I closed my eyes and sank into meditation, opening the gift of Time in Nature.
I experienced my innermost Self as the observer of my thoughts, my feelings, my body, and Consciousness—an observer that is formless, without attributes, and completely free. This liberating experience released warm, pulsating love in my heart and sweet gratitude for the invaluable presence of my Guru in my life.

When I am in nature, I do not question God. I am in God and with God, God is within me, and everything is as it should be. Nothing is discordant; even in a storm, there is terrible beauty.
I am grateful to Gurumayi for these beautiful pictures and this timely reminder. And today, I’ll let my feet do the praying because they are taking me on a long hike.

I find this celebration of nature to be very moving. The exquisite pictures of Gurumayi interacting with nature and nature interacting with Gurumayi instill a deep feeling of tranquility in me. And the verses from Shri Guru Gita reawaken my sense of devotion. This is a reminder to me that no matter what takes place around the world, there is still such profound beauty—always.
May we treat each other with as much tenderness and care as Gurumayi and the butterflies treated each other.
Here’s to the embrace of grace, that extraordinary blessing!

In viewing the photos of the butterflies, I recalled an experience I had during my last stay in Gurudev Siddha Peeth. I noticed that one of the garments worn by the statue of Goddess Durga needed to be mended. So, one day I brought what was necessary to fix it.
As soon as I started to sew, butterflies suddenly appeared. One of them came to rest delicately on my arm. It stayed there motionless the whole time! Tears started to roll down my cheeks as my heart swelled with deep devotion and sweet love. I took this as a sign that the gods are able to express thanks to devotees who respect them and believe in them. I felt in perfect union with the gods and with nature.

From the images in Time in Nature, this phrase arose within me: “There is nowhere where the Guru is not”—from the billowy clouds to the Guru’s outstretched hand.
This morning while meditating to the sound of the flute playing in Time in Nature, I heard Gurumayi’s voice saying, Come with me. Time is an illusion. Nature is the teacher. For a moment in time I was not my body, I was not focused on me. I was timeless, I was the butterfly. I floated effortlessly through the nature of time. I felt content to just be.
