I have listened to Gurumayi’s poem “The Mystical Mother Energy” many times and will do so even more in the coming days. The vastness and magnificence that Gurumayi describes brought me to the experience that this divine energy of the primordial Mother also lives within me and is always there for me.

Gurumayi’s words felt like a soothing and comforting balm on my soul. To always have this inner support—this warm love of “the mystical mother energy”—within me and to be able to give it to others evokes infinite gratitude in me.

I am deeply grateful to my mother for her “forever gifts”: she gave me life and brought me to my Guru, my spiritual mother. Forty years later, I know this meeting as the most awesome, loving, and transformative event of my life. As soon as Gurumayi sat on her chair on that memorable day, a rain of love fell down on me. Then my heart exploded, leaving me drunk with her infinite love. All this happened in a fraction of a second, before I would even open my eyes to look at my Guru for the first time.

Today, my heart melts out of gratitude for my formidable journey on the Siddha Yoga path. All of the gifts named in Gurumayi’s poem are mine. I received them all! My whole being is suffused with my Guru’s love. I won’t have enough of a lifetime to find all the “gems and treasures” she has placed in me.

My heart has only one prayer: “O divine Mother, keep me in your light always.”

Shri Gurumayi’s poem celebrating the virtues of motherhood is profoundly inspiring and moving.

It took me to one of my favorite contemplations: the immense gifts that my mother gave to me. My mother gave me the gift of life. She taught me compassion and dharma. She taught me to meditate. The gift of meditation carried me to my Shri Guru, in a perfect circle of a mother’s love.

I am blessed so richly by the love of my mother and my Guru!

What a sweet gift of blessings to receive this poem on Mother’s Day! The poem speaks about all the painful moments of learning and beautiful moments of being a mother in such a way that they aroused many memories within, which encompassed the journey of motherhood loud and clear. All I could think about as I read through the poem was how Gurumayi’s teachings and life have guided me, comforted me, and cheered me on.

Yes, I will turn my gaze inward to find “the gems and treasures” inside; it is literally my favorite place to be these days. I can hear Gurumayi’s voice there. It is a still, peaceful place— sometimes so deep that I know that I have dropped down into that sacred space only when I return from it.

It has taken many years for this inner focus to blossom, yet the time it has taken is perfect and has been a supreme gift in all of its myriad experiences.

This wonderful poem illumines for me the Guru as a manifestation of the divine Mother, the goddesses who make the facets of my crystal heart shine, and all the mothers I have met in my life. In all these mothers, I recognize Shri Kundalini Shakti. Just remembering them, I feel immense love in my heart.

I wish a blessed Mother’s Day to all mothers and to all children everywhere! How does one begin to express the gratitude of the heart for “the mystical mother energy” that Gurumayi describes in this poem? My heart is also profoundly grateful to serve as a mother.

Every reading of this poetic teaching from Gurumayi reveals more subtle facets, layers, and colors to me. It’s a wonderful challenge to hold in awareness at all times both the embodiments of motherhood and the one sublime, timeless Mahadevi of all.

Motherhood has been an evolving, sixty-five year journey for me, much of which I have been blessed in all respects to take in the gracious presence of our Gurumayi. I recognize my reflection as a mother in her poem, and feel the truth of it day in and day out. I would not be that one without her grace.

    Washington, United States

Gurumayi’s poem gives me confidence that my own mother’s love and positivity are always with me. After reading this poem, I could see my mother as a form of the Goddess; I am able to experience divinity in her.

Also, being a mother myself, I see affirmation in Gurumayi’s words for my conscious presence with my own children. When I am physically away from them, I send them my love, and offer them my mantra japa and the power of my Siddha Yoga practices. I feel assured that my children are receiving these blessings.

Life on the Siddha Yoga path is truly blessed.

Reading the divine poem from Gurumayi, I was moved because I realized how much I received from my own mother. I grew up in a challenging family, and the immense love of my mother was my saving grace. She gave me life and kept me safe so that I can be here today at the feet of Gurumayi.
